How could I make my pure energy 4500 88ci have an on/off so I stop breaking o-rings

I was really wondering because I always break o-rings, also how could I make it adjustable.

Are you using a drop forward ? if you are just go an pick up an on/off adaptor most companies make them such as custom prducts and Kapp. This will allow you to stop the flow of air from the tank. Then you can either just keep pulling the trigger until there is no more air in the system or you could install a bleed to relieve the air from the hose. Then you can unscrew your tank without blowing out o-rings.

You can't make your preset PMI 88 adjustable without adding a secondary regulator. Some will tell you that adding another regulator is not a good thing. But if you want to try it, PMI makes an screw-in adjustable regulator that you can use with your preset tank. It's called the PMI PE2001 or T.H.O.R. I have it installed on my RT Pro and it works fine. You would have to give up the drop forward with the on/off though if you wanted to use this approach.

You can also get something called a proconnect which allows you to do the same thing as the on/off value. I believe it's similar to a slide check and is on your air line. Don't know a lot about these but there are some posts on the forum where you can get some more information.

If you want to stay with the on/off approach and still have an adjustable tank, sell your preset PMI and just buy an adjustable tank and a drop forward with the on/off.

basically this is what i used to do/recommend doing to keep from busting orings on a non on/off tank to keep from busting orings...when you get through using it unscrew the tank a couple of twists but not to the point of degassing it...then shoot the rest of the air out...should be 2 or 3 shots...and then take the tank out

what i found out causes this problem is the pressure in the ca adaptor blowing the oring when you unscrew the tank all the way...and this way relieves the pressure to keep this from happening...if it works...hoorray...free fix...if not...keep trying

I believe that pure energy makes an after market adjustable regulator for its screw in tanks. It is called the T.H.O.R.
I am unsure if there are any other adjustable regulators for screw-in preset tanks. I wonder if an armageddon sleve w/ internals will do it?

Blitz 134 has just told you how to degass your air supply correctly. This is the same way to degas co2 also. If you use this system your o-ring will last alot longer.
