can you use the trigger + sear on an RT w\CO2

or what...I see it comes with a whole new valve (including bolt, spring powertube, etc....right??) and a trigger sear. If I use CO2 as a backup airsource(for backyard games), would I need to take out the valve, and trigger sear or whatever it comes with?

You can use Co2, however, dont expect to get more than 5 shots off before you have to pay $300 for a new valve because the Co2 just blew it up.

I believe you would be able to use the RT trigger rod and sear, if you replace the RT/RT Pro/Retro Valve with a regular A.I.R. valve, if your going to run CO2.

I don't think it will "blow it up" but it's definetly not good for it. It will wreck most of the o-rings for sure.

Switching between the Rertro, and AIR is easy. Degas the gun, disconect the hose, take out field strip screw, remove retro valve, put AIR valve in, tighten field strip screw, put hose back on, and gas up, now your all set for co2. No need to change the sear.
The retro and AIR valve can be interchanged like this, the rt valve cannot.

The rt valve cannot be interchanged with anything else. Take out the retro valve, and put in the stock valve, don't just switch regulators. As you can probably figure out, the stock valve will not give you a reactive trigger :)

Whoops! I am sorry. Good catch guys! The RT valve cannot be replaced with any other valve due to the difference in size and the position of the source of air feeding the valve, it would work on a RT Pro. That is what I meant. Good catch!

I don't know about blowing it up, but the Retro can't be used with co2 because it sucks liquid into the gun. Most likely your gun will be more functional as a fire extinguisher.

not quite. The reason why you can't use CO2 in an RT is not beacause it will suck up liquid. If that was the issue, getting an antisiphon would do the trick. But that's not the issue. Even if you are using a remote, antisiphon, and an expantion chamber with CO2 in an RT, it will not work. The reason is because the RT recharges so quickly in the gun that the CO2 freezes and breaks all the o-rings can causes leaks everywhere. I'd be supprised if you could even gas up wiht CO2.
