Any Cali peeps flying out?

Since I realized only like 5 minutes ago that I can fly out late friday and fly home late sunday I wanted to know if any Cali peeps are going to be going and if we can room/share a rental car/whatever for the event. I know it's 5 months out but I really want to travel and make it out to this one..

not at all man...and that is a "yes"...let's see if we can get more peeps to come out...maybe TDS and Gibby...tried J.Lo but he'll be at officer's school...I'll start looking into flights and rooms soon just to get an idea what it would cost..

TDS and I just signed up. We're still not sure when we'll be leaving as she might not be able to take the Friday off. But let's definitely keep in touch and see if we can help minimize costs. Pitching in for a rental car would definitely be a plus!

Sounds good to me. We'll need it for all our gear. BTW, how are you guys handling the paintball marker issue on the flight over? Are you guys going to ship your stuff to the hotel or will you chance trying to take it with you on the flight?

First time we went, we had no problems. But since then, I've heard horror stories with regards to equipment not passing through.

That's exactly what I was thinking...the more people..the bigger the car..and the smaller piece each of us has to dump in to make it work..

I haven't signed up yet. I probably won't till at least next week, maybe even next month because of budget concerns (I love sounding like congress).

My plan is to ship my gear to the hotel...I'm paranoid and I don't even trust a baggage handler as far I can kick him...

Have you ever tried kicking a baggage handler? They have good hangtime.

I never considered the gun issue. There's another thing we can do together to consolidate shipping costs.

Give all your markers to me!

I can ship them from my work...send them a week or two in advance so I can package them properly after I take them out for weekend of fun. Seriously...I can get them all packed up here and ship it 2-3 day fedex to your destination.

If we do end up shipping our stuff...I might know a guy or two who can be trustworthy. They can probably ship it back afterwards too.

I'm not so paranoid about the baggage handler snagging our stuff, more along the lines of, will I be able to pass check in. Last thing I want to do is go on a flight knowing my stuff isn't coming with me only to play with a rental. GAH!

Or, we can check up on the airline we'll be flying and see if we can get some type of prior authorization. Or something. Shoot me now if I'm just babbling. :)

btw, for anyone that hasn't signed up if you'd like to sign up under a Team AO-SoCal I'd be willing to get that all started. I'll probably try to get us all signed up by the end of the month if it's at all possible. If you can do it by then I understand but usually people are lot more willing to commit after you've gotten a little money from them... $75...so let's aim for that unless people want to get the money in by the 22nd to get in one the first Tac-One drawing..

Seeing how we might not have special jersies this year, we should all coordinate on at least wearing something. Should we be high class gangsters...or ratty street thugs?
