I am about to buy a broken RT Pro used

The guy I may be buying it from says it leaks down the barrel, and is most likely an O ring problem. The gun comes with a Boomstick, benchmark double trigger frame, and some sort of drop forward. All of this for 200 (if I can get him that low), but definately for 210. If he is telling the truth, is the problem most likely an o ring? Or could it be something major?

    Any help is apreciated. Thanks.

please post the thread. Or his address/phone number. I can help REAL good.

There's nothing on a mag you can't fix. Probably a powertube or on/off problem? Unless you did something really crazy to it. Great deal though.

It doesn't have level 10. He says he would get it fixed himself, but he would have to drive to a proshop an hour away. RT Pros are nitro only, correct?

I acutally cant find the thread, I am talking to him on AIM right now.

I see lots of people buy mags that are broken and the people say "it's just an oring" but mags can be a lot of work and problematic if you don't know what you are doing like any gun. I bought my rt and it was leaking and he said it was just an oring, but I ended up needing lots of more parts to get it working then an oring. The most important thing to fixing a gun is know how it works, not just how the bolt moves but exactly where the air travels, thats the key to fixing any leak. I'd go for the rt, if you cant get it working yourself or us on AO can't help you, you could always send it to agd.

Alright, well, I purchased it. I am pretty good with PB guns, but I have never taken apart a mag before. I have lots of friends who know what they are doing, and i can always bring it to a proshop. About how much would the resale be if I got it working?

There really isnt a whole lot that can go wrong with a mag. It is most likely a power tube spacer or oring problem.

Mags are rediculously easy to disassemble. I took out every part, cleaned it, and reinstalled it the day after I got it, without a manual. So don't be afraid to take it apart.

Alright, that should be fine then. I am guessing I will need a rebuild kit for it, so I will call my proshop when it comes in.

There is no such thing as "a broken RT". There is only an RT waiting to live up to its potential. I will buy all them I could find for that money.

Nice buy! When you get it, try and hold down the trigger. If the leak stops, it's most likely the powertube oring, if it keeps leaking, it's something in the on/off, most likely the little white one in the top.

When you have fixed it, get lvl10 and ULT for it, and it will be a killer machine =). I love my RTP!

Is that an RT Pro or a classic RT, because if it is an RT Pro that is indeed a great deal.

He said it was a Pro. But even still for 200 I would be temped no matter if it was an old style... Probably an early Pro before they had Intelliframe standard. Hense the Benchy.

Thats exactly what it is. I just talked to a friend who knows mags well and he offered to help. He has a bunch of spare parts so I should be fine. I ended up paying 210 with shipping and all that, but I am still happy with the deal. Can't wait for it to get here. I may end up keeping this one.
