new to mags, gotta few ???`s

whats up folks? just figured i would introduce myself. im Chao and you can usually find me on spyderEA.net. i have been a spyder enthusiast since i strted but always wanted a mag. after getting a bushmaster a few monthes ago, i realized it was just way to tall for my style. i play a very tight position and that gun just wasnt cutting it for me. after thinking about it for a while, i thougth about mags. always wanted one and there super small. what more could i want? so here i am, about to buy the custom RT package. ill be honest, i really dont know anything about them and i shouldnt be buying on impulse but i love the way these things look and they have been around for ever so i figure i really cant go wrong. now to the questions, ONWARD!>

ok, so after using modified electro spyders then modified electro bushies, the only thing about the mag that scared me was the triggerpull. so my first thought was to get either a hyperframe or a booyeahh frame. 2 people told me these frames sucked for lack of better terminology. what are your guys experiences with the 2?

i was also told that the best way to have a triggerpull thats like an electro is to get the intelliframe and get the hAir when it comes out. i have 2 questions on that. is the hAir a whole frame, or could i just drop it into my intelliframe?

second question on the intelliframe is that i here something about it working with your hopper. what would it do for a halo? could someone clear that whole isssue up for me?

i will continue to do my homework for a few days, until i get the money. but any help would be greatly appreciated.

and if theres anyone FROM SEA on here, drop me a message on here so i know whos on here.

    thanks again, everyone!

    RE: New to mags

Hi, And welcome to the forum and to Automags specifically. I too am a friend to Spyders(regs, mods, e-triggers and such) and have just recently assembled my first 'Mag with Intelliframe(love it). I haven't played with my Phantom pump since my 'Mag came along but I try to cheer it up with the lame excuse that I'm still trying to dial it in and get rid of the bugs. "I'll be back to play again with you Phantom." If I can stay awake long enough I can give you what I've learned from my experience.

    1. The Intelliframe is a mechanical, dbbl trigger frame that has capability for an OPTIONAL board and data line that plugs directly into your revvy to force it to run after each shot regardless of wether or not the revvy sees a ball in the tube. I think a halo can beat that without the data link. With the stock valve, the trigger pull is softer than a Spyder and with the ULE(ULT) on/off, it would be half as much pull as stock.

    2. I assembled from parts bought off eBay and settled on the classic valve. It's heavy stainless, like the body but is somewhat tolerant of Co2. I paid enough for all the parts to have gotten a complete, light aluminum marker with an X valve, but I had fun and got what I wanted. If you can't get what you want in a whole gun and/or just want to learn about 'Mags the hands-on way then go for the piece-by-piece method. You might even get better deals than I got.

    3. If you can go HPA, get an X valve model which comes with the level 10 bolt installed. After tuning the LvL X(level 10) bolt to not bind or leak, it literally won't chop a ball, though it is a bit of a gas hog but not as bad as a Shocker(so I've heard). The X valve is light aluminum and can cycle 26 times a second. I believe it also has the reactive trigger response feature.

    4. The hAIR sounds like a hair-trigger for the classic (A.I.R.) valve. Wohooo! if it is. I better check out the Airguns' site for the news.

And now for a word picture of my gun.
*Stainless powerfeed body w/ aluminum rail
    *Chrome(plated aluminum) Intelliframe w/black grips
*Classic valve with level 10 bolt
*Black vertical pre-regulator on front ASA mount(hangs down 5 1/2 inches)
*Black FREAK!! back w/ silver tip(I already had a Spyder back and full set)
*Medium/small drop forward with on/off (silver aluminum)
*Black 32 degrees gauges on both drop and ASA mount(left side of gun)(had to drill and tap gauge hole in ASA mount)
*Black macro lines: from drop forward to bottom of reg. then from ASA back to gun valve(All on the right side of gun).
*Stainless thumb screw velocity adjuster(I'm gonna paint it black).
*Silver aluminum sight rail(do ya think I should paint it black too?).
With my BLACK Empire Reloader mounted you get the picture in black and white, huh? The only color accent is when I change FREAK inserts(or get tagged I don't have a cooler looking marker. Even my splash-annodized Flash isn't as cool.

Well, I hope I helped even a little.
You're gonna love the way you shoot, I guarantee it.(altered from the Men's Warehouse ad)

Welcome to AO. This is a great community.
Your first decision is whether you will be shooting CO2 or HPA.
Any style retro valve (X-valve is just a lighter retro) does not shoot with CO2.
The Hair trigger is a not yet fully developed non electric pneumatic (?) modification that will basically make your trigger pull as light as or lighter than any electro out there. WHile it might be a bolt on mod, you probably will not be able to drop it into existing trigger frames. Many of us are awaiting this VERY eagerly.
One of the desirable qualities of a retro valve is that it has a reactive trigger. This means that when you pull the trigger, air pressure indirectly pushes the trigger back against your finger to reset the trigger. Once you get the feel for it, you can shoot veeeerrryyy fast. On the other hand, you won't be able to walk the trigger.
The intelliframe is quite simple to use with your hopper. It is a radio shack microswitch bolted into the frame that kicks on your hopper everytime you pull the trigger. Doubt you would need it with a halo though...especially if you have a valve with a level ten (lx 10)
You can find lotsa good deals on the different forums here. There is also a ton of information if you take time to look.
      Welcome to automags.

thanks. theres just soo much info. i hav new questions. how would a rt custom stack up against higher end guns like bushies, impulses, or trix? and what is the RT ule on/off pin? its 20 extra bucks in the rt custom package but i have no idea what it does. thnaks again, everyone.

              Ule/ult

The ULE stands for ultra light equipment and applies to all Automag stuff that is lighter: either in weight or effort. The ULE trigger is also called a ULT for ultra light trigger. It is supposed to cut trigger pull effort in half. I hear that response trigger action is not as good with it though. Your decision is for best response trigger action or lightest trigger pull in semi-auto action.

The hAIR is going to be a hair trigger for those using the classic A.I.R. valve and will be around $350 or so I heard.

yea, i wish i knew someone around chicago that had one. i want to try one out. im so worried that after using an electro so long, i will hate the trigger pull on this. i had 25 gram microswitches and magnetic trigger mods in all my guns so the whole mech thing is scarin me a little...

ACTUALLY, he uses an RT based valve. And the price hasn't been quoted at all.

                    Just an FYI.

that is gunna suck though cuz it 90 for the intelliframe then it will be like 300-350 for another frame for the hAir. thats a lot of dough...

                      Thanks, Z!
