8" DYEs do not exist.
The fabled 8" are because of certain guns like Angels and mags that asorb 2" of the length, and only show 8" sticking out.....The threading takes up 2" of it.
I have been asked this multiple times, and I have called DYE up and asked them about 8"s, and they have never, and will never make or sell them. a 8" would be nearly illeagle (theres a limit on how short you can make them).
If you had a 8" boomstick, there would be no aluminum in it......Just SS , Titanium or the ultralite aluminumFormer stickballmovies guy (They're on youtube now). Now a full-time slumlord in Central Ohio.Comment

I cant honestly say that I have ever heard of a legal limit on the barrel length. But I have seen cockers with barrels that do not extend beyond the pneumatics, roughly six inches max including the threaded portion. I have an 8.5 inch taso pro series, which is stainless steel. This guy may be mistaking one of them for a dye s/s. They look somewhat similar, and without the logo on them, many people would not know the difference.

Maybe the guy measured it wrong and its really like a 10"?.?.?.?.?Comment

I agree with Chris
It's most likely a TASO SS, which is not a bad barrel at all. I had a Dye 10", and sold it to an AO member recently - great speedball barrel.
And there is no legal limit on barrel length on paintball guns, only a practical limit. Firearms are a different story, however.Comment
