Hopefully soon to be mag owner...

    Hi,
I'm 15, I've ownded my BE raptor for about a year. I am in no way a be basher, i love my raptor, but out of the box the gun was horrible. With about 5 minutes of EASY modifications i made it just as good as any spyder. As much as i love this gun, i have ALWAYS wanted a mag. They seem so tiny and light, COMFORTABLE, and snappy. Its always been my dream to own one, above an angel or any of those other electros, and now i think i'm going to get one. If i still had my yz (stollen MOTHER !@#$(*^$) i wouldn't be into buying a mag so much, but the loss of my bike has turned me on to paintball even more. Anyways to get back on topic, I want to know what i'm going to love about an automag.

I'm either getting a used mag and then buying a teardrop barrel, forgrip, and a nice drop forward, or buying the TKO powerfeed package from pbgear.com. I just wanted to know how this gun is going to differ from my raptor. I know stacked blowbacks in and out, but i don't know about this mag thingy, I'll teach myself i guess. I'm going to be selling almost everything i own to get this mag, so i don't want to make the wrong choice. What am i going to be buying? is it worth the $300? This 300 is hard for me to get so i need to spend it wisely. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. I'm real excited to be getting a mag! They are just so much different than the stacked blowbacks i'm used to. I've never even shot a mag and i'm in love. Any tips, words of advise? Thanks guys

My only advice would be to shoot one BEFORE you buy. Mags have a trigger that takes some getting used to, and some just never do

      HEY WELCOME TO AO!!!

It's me RaPtAmAsTa, probably one of the BEOG's older and most hated members hehehe. In other words I am the one that got mad at my raptor and flamed about it on the BEOG, but anyways, ya I don't have a mag, I was going to get one but I got a killer deal on a Cocker. But Mags still are nice guns, compact, pretty quiet shooting(yes get a boomy and it will be very quiet) I'v heard, or should I say I haven't heard Umm, I would suggest looking over the Classifieds here, there are great deals, so take advantage of Mags bad resale value and go check it out, you can prolly get an RT for $300 if you look. But anyways mag=great guns yada yada. They are kinda heavy but most guns are.
You smell like dookie... No really though.

oh hey raptamasta, hows it goin? I don't know if i can get the chance to shoot one. I'm sure i could get used to the trigger after some practice. No one around me has any mags, and my local store doesn't have any either (they are diehard tippmann fans). I think i want to get a new mag, even tho they never break, or so i hear, i would still like to have it shiny new.

ya sorry bout that, i'm getting too excited. I must have asked about 10 people about their mags, but i don't even have the money together yet. I think that ultimately i will ask Tunaman to build me a nice mag, depends on how much money i can scrape up. I bought a small n2 tank from one very cool Brewmaster on the beog forum for cheap. I've had my 12v revvy. When xmas rolls around the intelliframe is mine! I can't wait to get a mag... anymag. AGD i love you! Aaaah the suspense!!!

Hi rhetor22. I'm glad that you are looking into an Automag. I assure you that you will not be disappointed with this gun. I just have a few points to make that I thought you would be interested in. First, seeing how you know nothing about Mags, have no fear because with every Automag purchase, you will receive a instructional video tape featuring Tom Kaye himself, who explains EVERY single bit of knowledge you need to know about a Mag. Watch that video 5 or 6 times, and you will be a Mag master. Second, regarding Russ's comment, "Mags have a trigger that takes some getting used to", there are always exceptions. Take me for example. When I first got my Mag, that trigger was no problem. I have only short stroked my Mag twice in one year. Firing a Mag just came natural to me. Along with three other of my friends who own Mags. It was no sweat. I'm sure it will be no trouble for you. And also if some people never get the hang of it, then thats just preety sad, cause its quite easy. Anyways, hoped I help you out in your decision. Bye.

For a new mag, the most important bit fo advice I can think of is to break the valve in.

On my mini and my ReTro I cycled the valve about 1000 times before everything started acting normal. Just fill your tank, empty it through the gun (with no paint). Crank the vel up if you need to. After about 1000 shots things should be nice and stable.
