    A free way to improve the Ion stock reg recharge.

    This ones really simple. I havent really had any shootdowm w/ mine, but some ppl complained about it. Ive read that removing the filter in between the reg and the ASA will help, but I recommend leaving that there because it acts as a grease/debris trap. Even w/ HPA commercially filled tanks are not always filtered properly and the air is dirty.

    To help your Ion stock regs recharge, replace your stock macro w/ a macro w/ larger diameter. Also, if you have the stock Macro elbow on the reg, look inside. There is a circlip and a small screen/filter located in the elbow itself. Remove it, or replace the macro elbow w/ an elbow w/o a screen. That will help improve airflow to the reg. You dont have to worry about drop off cause it got dirty, etc. You will however need to lube and clean your reg regularly as you do w/ the bolt anyway. It isnt that difficult to clean the reg. I highly recommend lubing and cleaning the reg often as well as the body. I dont do it every time I go out. I do it probably every other case. If you shoot 2 cases or so one weekend, then you may want to clean/relube everything.

      and its not free. .

      removing the screen from the macro inlet to the reg is the main thing I was talking about.

        You realize the point of that is for CO2 right

        It's to help clean the Co2 that people might use going into the gun.

        Compressors = filter = nitro-tanks are fine.

          Not true.

          Bulk N2 tanks are just as crappy on the inside as bulk CO2 tanks.

          And BTW, CO2 gets filtered when it is made too. All commercial gasses are created/separated by some type of closed cell chemical reaction, and are filtered and purified before being installed in the cylinder.

          CO2 is no more dirty than N2, and since both are inert gasses, neither will corrode the cylinder it is contained it. However, both tanks are steel, and can develop rust scale inside if left empty long enough. Thusly, either can have crap floating around inside.

          Now you know . . . . . . . . . . . . . and knowing is half the battle.

                    well, a lot of ppl may have never noticed the filter was there. And Commercially filled HPA is not the cleanest either. I leave the one in between the vert adapter and the reg in place for grease/debris trap. I just clean it often w/ hot water, and completetly dry it before I put it back in. I just didnt happen to notice the small screen and circlips in the end of the macro fitting. Removing it will get better flow to the reg and since a lot have complained about the reg, I think removing them will help w/ any shootdown that ppl report.

                    Maybe not.

                    I dont recommend using CO2 in the Ion regardless if A/S or not.
