    Superbolts made of titanium?

Now I'm no expert with physics but wouldn't a titanium bolt be just as light, if not lighter than the delrin sleeved superbolt? Also, it would be a high performance "non wear" part. So what's holding everyone back from making a titanium bolt for the automag? If it would cost more, I'm sure people would be willing to pay a little more for it.

It's not a matter of a "little" more, it would be alot more. From what I understand about Titanium it is very difficult to work with, on top of requiring special tools to do the work with.

All of the costs of the new tools, and the man hours required to learn how to work with the metal would have to be rolled into the cost of the bolt making it very expensive.

The sear contact area would have to made out of a tougher material, because Titanium is too soft, and would wear rather quickly. And if you think $55 is a lot for a superbolt!
