Getting gas out of my gun?f

How should I get the gas out of my gun before I try to take it apart? I know there is gas in there because of the inline reg. This is probably a really stupid question, but I don't know a lot about mags. Please answer. Thanks

Well, I'm no expert on Mags neither but wouldn't dry firing in a safe direction as the little book suggests be a smart idea?

      Hm

Yeah, but I heard that was bad for the gun. There's got to be an easier way. Thanks for the advice though.

just take the valve assy. out on the slower side.... any pressurized gas still in there would keep tring to push the bolt forward and once you get past the point where the sear and or bolt spring hold the bolt back the air will escape through the power tube at that point

constant dry firing is bad for the gun (which you really can't do with a mag because there's no external way to recock it...) Anyways the marker's manual sais that's how it's done... Good response though, it is hard on the markers but Mags were designed for case a paint games... It can handle it.

A paintball gun doesn't know the differance of weather or not there is a ball in there. Dryfireing has be effect on the gun that normal shooting won't.

I think what he was trying to say was, " a Mag has no idea if it has a ball in the chamber or not, dry firing has no effect on the marker, than normal use does........"

Well you can't with a mag, but if cock a blowback gun and dry fire (with no gas) it could dent up the valve and cause it to mushroom, then your pin valve could get stuck. Common problem on raptors.

The only thing i could see that firing without a ball in the chamber would hurt is maybe the bolt spring.

                        About Raptors

I think most everything is a common problem with a Raptor.
