    Best ar15/m4 type rifle

    Hello Everyone

I am looking into purchasing an m4 type rifle. The problem is I never realized so many companies made them. I mean there is Bushmaster, DPMS, Rock River Arms, Colt, etc... So out of those of you that own either a full length or m4 type rifle what can you tell me about what company has the best reliability, customer service, etc.. or are they all pretty much the same.

    Any help is appreciated,
    Zack

If it is Mil-Spec, it doesn't matter who made it, they'll all be the same (Colt being the exception)

Rock River has superb customer service, DPMS has just about any configuration you can imagine. Model 1 Sales is about the least expensive, but they too have everything needed.

If it matters, I get most of my parts from Model 1 Sales.

Thanks for the info, do any of them come with a good adjustable trigger?

I have the Bushmaster M4, I really don't know that much about other companies but so far Ive not had any problems with this rifle. I think its as accurate as anyother similar rifle with a similar length barrel. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another bushmaster, If that helps at all. Sorry I couldnt help more. Good Luck Im sure youll have a blast (no pun intended) no matter which company you choose.

I've got a colt lower with a LBC upper,DPMS barrel, and 2-stage trigger. Works awesome for me. Rock River and Bushmasters are supposed to be good, DPMS gets mixed reviews.

Army already dropped most the market trends...

the big part of that is Colt = unjustifiably expensive

my m4gry currently consists of the following:

custom milled DPMS lower(was a group buy though another forum)
LMT 16in upper, mid barrel gas, A4 config
            Troy BUIS
all my mags have been given the usual magpul treatments

the only stuff I want to finish it are:
            Magpul CTR stock
            EOtech/Bushnell optic
daniel defense 12in mid gas rail

unless you're really looking for a tactical sort of rifle, i would get a mini 14 (.223). they're fun to shoot, and you can get them way cheaper than a m4/ar-15 type rifle. and the new ones fixed all of the problems that the older ones had : )

My roomate's father is sponsored by Armalite...
They gave him pretty much one of everything for freez.
I was sad because he had to turn down acceptance of the AR-50 (.50 cal) due to some sort of ownership regulations. They are sweet guns.

                Go with the Armalite AR-15.

On a side note... why would you ever need an assault rifle? Worry much?

I am an Infantryman in the National Gaurd. We shoot like twice a year, so I figured it would be best to pick up a rifle to practice with so when I do get deployed I actually have some good experience with the rifle. And plus I just enjoy shooting.

Hell, I just like to shoot also. Law says I can have an AR15, so I do. It's an awesome rifle to shoot, there are an unimaginable amount of accessories, and ammo is still relatively easy to find (though getting more expensive). Plus, it's very very accurate, which I love.

Assault rifles MUST HAVE the selective option of automatic fire. Anything else is nothing more than a semi-auto rifle.

Army nice looking rifle you have there. What brand quad rail is that on the front, and what type of mount do you have on your CCO and where did you get it?

Everything above the lower receiver is issue, including the Miculek compensator. The rail system is regular issue Knights Armament. The mount is M68/Aimpoint factory, also issue.

Other than the lower, I carried this rifle in Iraq.
