    Returning to Paintball

    Hello All,

I considering on returning to paintball. i was on this website a few years back. I have an old 68 Automag with a Intelli frame and warp feed. I won the WF on this site a few years back on a promotional give away. I have been off the scene now for about 5 years. I'm considering on upgrading my Mag withan X-valve and the new ULE body with a warp feed left and getting back into paintball.

    A few questions

Do paintball fields still have the 3000 PSI compressed air? It seems to me like N2 is the way to go now. I have a scuba tank and fill station and a 110 cu inch 3000PSi tank.

How much are fields charging to fill N2 tanks 4500PSI or compressed air 3000PSI tanks?

    Any input is welcome.

Compressed air and nitrogen are 2 names for the same thing. Most fields now do all day air for a certain price, not too much- 10 or so IIRC.

Mags don't shoot darts... they shoot nails.

The compressed air I'm talking about is breathing air coming from a scuba tank. The nitrogen is stored in large industrial sized tanks (180 lbs bottles) with special regulators to fill the small 4500 PSI tanks. I'm interested in keeping the 3000 PSI. I already have a scuba tank, fill valve , and 110 cu inch 300 PSi tank for my Mag.

      Question:

Are fields these days(it has been that long) filling 3000PSI bottles with nitrogen or compressed air from scuba tanks or both? I have not been on an official paintball field in about 5 years.

Sorry for the questions. I'm just trying to plan some future purchases. I realize my question is generalized.

compressed air is 70% N2, and ~22% O2. HPA (High pressure Air), Compressed Air, Nitrogen, and N2 are all the same name for the same thing. I use 3 scubas to fill my HPA tank.

Its six to a half dozen basicly

What PSI tank are you running? 4500 or 3000 PSI tank

Back to my question from previous post, are fields filling 3000PSI bottles?

Most every field located in civilation fills at least 3000psi. I'd venture to say about half the fields can fill 4500psi and most proshops will fill 4500psi. If you have a 4500psi tank, it's ok to only put 3000psi in it.

Also... I know of no fields that fills "pure N2". Compressed air is cheaper and does the same thing. Fields typically have a compressor and a psi booster to fill their scuba tanks.

              Ok, thanks for the input.

Hopefully later this year at the end of the summer I will get to get back on the field again.

i have seen pictures of Mags with Q loaders. Whee are people buying them from? How do they work compared to a warp feed?

Just go to goole and search for q-loader or check actionvillage.com, i don't know any specific place that carries them, but shouldn't be hard to find..

The warp as you know has a motor and uses batteries

The Q-Loader uses a spring, no batteries, no motor..and you don't need a hopper to put on top of it like the warp...

I use 3k. My paintball tanks are rated for 4.5k, but my scubas only 3k. I dont play at a public course. We have built a few private courses that are much better/ cheaper than the local pb fields. (there are only 2 within an hour, and both suck)

I have played paintball in ~ 5-6 states (I bring my paintball equip with me when I travel with work) and I always find that the field will fill 4.5 or 3k tanks
