these are used for Airsoft guns. as far as i know you can't use these at an organized field for 1)lots of fields make you use there paint 2)some fields have a size that the splat has to be, and a 6mm pellet doesn't make much of a splat. Anyways i wouldn't use them anyways, for 200 they costs just as much as regular paintballs(last time i've seen them) and from what i've heard they barely ever break.

I was thinking about this too for a while. There ARE advantages in that as a backup gun the airsoft guns are often firearm replicas so they are really compact compared to something like a PT Enforcer.

I've got one that is a Beretta replica, in metal that cost about $400 in Europe ( that sucked ) that I bought for fun when I lived there. It is semi auto with magazines that hold 25 rounds AND are charged up with CO2 from an aerosol can so that each magazine is like a ammo and gas refil.

It's a really nice "thing" but I can't imagine my local paintball field letting me run around pointing a Berretta at anybody! It would be freaky, and it doesn't have that red barrel insert that is a legal requirement in the US I think, so it would scare the doo-doo out of someone. I keep it in the drawer beside my front door.

If you look at airsoft sites you'll find that the people who do this are very much into scenario play, and some of the stuff I thought was pretty fanatical. Safety doesn't seem to be too much of a concern either compared to Paintball, although I have seen people wearing paintball masks.

The benefits are that they shoot pretty well ( using the 6mm plastic BBs, I don't know about paint ) and they look really great. I can imagine people who are into first person video games going to this for the next step in realizm as it is much more about "the kill" than paintball in my perception.

I like the pistol airsoft guns. They're cool. I want a KSC Glock 18C or a WA Beretta Perfect Version or a TM PSG-1... I've seen pics of some of those scenario guys and it's just crazy what they wear to the games. I'd at least wear safety glasses if I played an Airsoft battle.

now Foo my unwise pal....you have to work on getting your paintball gun first. Then you can get any airsoft gun you want

my parents r being mean and claim airsoft is too real but i will convince them otherwise, i want an 80 dollar springer Desert Eagle replica, its the real weight of the gun and actual size and everything(it better be for 80 bucks)
Here it is, and i know you people r gonna tel me to get a gas one but thats like gettin a mag as ur first pball gun, something i dont want to do now, plus this would only be used to fight with brothers, in a very small area...stupid florida house is on like .00005 acres so we have no woods and a TINY little sideyard, i want my house back in new york with the 3 acres

I gotta say, that my 6mm is the best out there.. I don't think it's available in the US. 100% metal parts.

.. and when it runs out of ammo the top stays back just like the real thing.

This puppy is soon to be featured in an independent movie. When I moved to the US my wife produced a movie in San Francisco, and they borrowed this thing.. It was hilarious. They had to stop shooting so that the person in shot could be passed this gun which was pretty much the only one used in the movie.

I was in the background wiring gunpowder into condoms with wires into them and at the appropriate moment I'd touch the wires to a 12volt car battery!!

Actually it kind of sucked.. I don't know that it will ever make any money ;-)

                            Hey foo,

I think you deserve some support. You seem to hang out here 24/7.

There must be enough parts out there to make you an Automag. If you can start the ball rolling I'll throw in some ANS stuff... although of course ANS stuff sucks donkey *** ;-)
