I needed a trigger for my rifle mag build (it is done now, will post pics soon). So I decided to make my own, it works and looks great. Here's how I did it. Any questions or comments are welcome.
On the left, raw aluminum bar stock. Right, rough trigger shape out of bar stock, hand shaped with a bench or die grinder.
Other tools needed, flat and half round fine files.
Notice the rough texture of the grinder work.
Use the half round file for the inner curves and the flat file for the rest. Remove all grinder marks and shape the trigger to desired specs.
Use light sandpaper or scotchbright to remove file marks.
Use a buffing compound to remove minor sanding/scotchbrighting marks. This one is for stainless but it works great. I get it free. If you buy it, the red one is for aluminum. If you have a buffing wheel use it, if not buff it by hand.
Use an aluminum polish to bring out the shine, remove oxidization and protect the finnish.
Enjoy your new trigger!
