    Voltage Converters

The soon to be wife and I are going to Europe (Spain, Italy, & Greece) in 2 weeks and i'm trying to find a decent voltage converter for around $30 or less.

I'll need one with 1875 watts max (hair dryer and curling iron)

I found a few, but i'm looking for some reviews or if anyone can recommend one that be great.

There's a lot more on amazon, with all mixed reviews.

Check the labels on the products you're going to be using. A lot of them are actually rated for 110-240.

I know my cellphone charger and camera charger both are.

So you may not need the voltage converter...just a plug converter.

That's only true of devices with switching power supplies. A hair dryer is just a pure resistive device. AKA, 240v will make it draw 3600w instead of 1800. ow... :-)

for that sort of power draw, it may be best to just buy a hair dryer and curling iorn out there.

Not to mention, converters can be heavy.

Easier to check for compatibility of the device, then buy plug/outlet adapters instead.

Sony makes a small converter/adapter that works, but won't take a lot of amp flow before failure. It also comes with a good selection of plug adapters for most Euro countries.
