    Discount for service people

At Lowes. For all active duty and former military there is also a discount everyday on any purchase, but need to ask, and manager will have to be called to authorize. Takes a few minutes, but worth it.

"Calling the Lowe's decision "un-American" and "naked religious bigotry," Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press on Sunday that he would also consider legislative action if Lowe's doesn't apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads."

        Legislative action?

I'm pretty sure every American (and every American company) has the right to choose when and where they spend their money, provided the gov't gets their cut when the taxes are due. I highly doubt the supreme court will uphold a law about "bigoted advertising" unless it's the content of the ad in question, and even then the content would probably have to be out of compliance with FCC standards, making any new law redundant.

This sounds like a solid business decision on the part of Lowes, McDonalds, Kayak.com, Amazon.com and everyone else who pulled their ads from the show... And there were a few, something like 50-60 advertisers. When your customers complain and the solution is inexpensive and easy to facilitate, you always try to please the customer - with that said, this is not a case of Lowes kowtowing to the demands of this Florida group, but rather trying to avoid controversy.

Here's a quote the looney left will never let you see, courtesy of the head of KAYAK:

I would be happy to see the show canceled, and frankly I love the fact that Lowes offers a discount, but I wouldn't read too much into this. At a previous job, I once had a higher-up issue a $100 credit to a customer whose teenage son assaulted my employee with a sign he ripped off the wall (metal bracket and all) at my workplace. The "kid" caused several hundred dollars in damage and injured a person, and yet we apparently caused the little vandal "mental trauma" when police were called. My point is, these days, you could walk into Target and take a big steamy dump on the managers desk, and as long as you claim it was a response to some minor offense or so-called trauma you'll probably get what you want from the situation.

Our local has clerks that serve us and will have their jobs, raises and benefits when they return. College students are hired for summer jobs, handicapped are employed, and some employees are in the special Olympics. during the flood(Binghamton NY 2011) they stayed open until the water was up to the door stills, and reopened the next day. Some companies still do some good things.
