is it the kind that bolts to the grip frame, or the kind that bolts to the rail?

well, the kind that bolts to the rail just has holes through it...the kind that bolts to the rail is tapped for 10-32 screws. a picture of the bottom / top would confirm either case.

It is tapped on one side, the top only.
