Anybody Golf? An interesting deal if you want to look at it.

I ran across this while looking for my kid some Golf stuff. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't play myself but this seems like a nice price.

    From the site:

    Here is the site: http://www.warriorcustomgolf.com/free_wedge.htm

I ordered the three piece set so I will see if they are legit and decent (they seem to be)but just thought I would share it with you in the mean time.

only problem is that having that many wedges in your bag limits the other numbers of clubs that you can have, at least in high school golf.

you can only have 12 clubs and a putter, HS rules

so in high school, i learned how to use my wedge and my sand wedge to do all of the things that those 3 >50 wedges can do

i think that there are many more important clubs that wedges. but thats just my opinoin, i also would like to brag on my 4/5 handicap:)

Cool Cliffio that is a low handicap. Nice.

Sure understand but for less than $10 a wedge for a custoum job with graphite shaft you can use one or two of them to let off steam by pitching them into the lake or something!

Anyway I thought it might be of interest to someone. And I wonder aout there full set deals too. I just wanted to see their workmanship up close before I even considered buying a whole set. But they do offer a risk free deal on them even. So I invested the $29.85 to see a few of em up close first.

just another tid-bit of info- if those are graphite shafts then they are horrible wedges, graphite has much less control than steel shafts, this is ESPECIALLY(sp) true on the low degree irons (9,sw,lw,pw) because of the way that these clubs are swung-
just thought that would be helpfull, if anyone IS thinking about new clubs however i would suggest titleist, i love mine

Well to tell you the truth I do not know for certain now that you ask. I saw they mentioned them on their drivers but it seems they are not specific on the wedges and irons. Unless I missed something on the site.

Of course I do know quite a few folks who prefer graphite on their irons and wedges though. Most of them are strong hitters and do not need the stiffness of steel shafts and want the faster club head speed of graphite. So I guess its a matter of who you are and what you need out of one. But I get your point though. I'll have to wait and see. I'll report it when I do. Be good for wackin Dandelions outa the yard though right?

but if im not mistaken, (which i may be) faster club head speed on a grafite shaft will make your hands go thru the ball before your club head, since your swinging it harder, doesnt it seem logical that the shaft will bend on its way down and therefore the club head has more room for error since it is not traveling on the same plane as your hands

like i said i could be wrong:)
its happened before, and i didnt wanna turn this into a big deal since i can be wrong here:)
and im sure your very busy doin your mod thing

ANYWAYS, your point still stands $30 for 3 wedges is pretty cheap

--but i use this example to say that grafit shafted irons are for women, but if you watch golf at all on tv or in person or whatever, do any of the pros use grafite? and you know they have fast club speed,
            - i say this because i hate when people get ripped off into buying grafite irons and then their game goes downhill because of it.

True enough. I don't know enough about it to argue really. Nor do I have a set opinion on it yet. I did do some extensive reading on the two materials types and can say they seem contradictory both ways. But Thats is not from actual experience I have to admit. And at this point I realy don't knwo which they will have. I'll let you know what they are and we can go from there. In fact I will let everyone know. So if you all that are interested want to wait for the review then bookmark this site and we will continue this in 4-6 weeks.

$30 down the drain or $30 for some decent wedges? That's the question! Let's find out! Of course I will have to get someone more knowledgable to swing em and and tell me this. But I can do that. And will. Good enough?

well its like i kinda said earlier, alot of clubs on the golf market today arent really something that will improve your game, but if you want a little secret, take out your 4 and 6 irons, those are you least used irons, and chances are that if you need to make a shot with your 6 you can buck up and use a 7 or tone it down and hit a 5

also, did you know that the hardest club to hit in your bag is your 4 iron? so just leave it out
                      theres you extra 2 clubs

in highschool i took out both of those irons just so i wouldnt have to carry them around the course, so most of the time i only had 3,5,7,8,9,pw,sw,driver,3wood,putter
                      so thats only 10 clubs
also, on days that we would practice at our home course, our coach would only let us take 3 clubs on the course, and this drill REALLY helps your game, because it forces you to take shots that you really dont know how to play, and let me tell you, scoring under 40 is hella hard with 3 clubs

Pros use extra stiff steel shafts because at high swing speeds flex make the head go squirly and therefore loses some consistancy. Also, cliffo is right about steel being a better choice for short irons. I have a set of Adams GT irons myself and love them to death. Wish I had a 4/5 handicap!!

On the topic of graphite over steel. Personally I prefer graphite. You have to have more of a controlled swing because they are light though. I have hit both steel and graphite and I love my graphites. It is all a matter of what you like. Science only applies to golf to a certain extent, then it's all your opinion.

Of course, it is all opinionation as I stated.
