    Sorry, auction is over.
    Is it worth $9,000,000?

Wife to husband: "You really need to sell your paintball equipment so we can spend saturdays going antique shopping!"

Husband to wife: "OK, I'll put it up on EBAY and see if it sells. If it does, we'll go antique shopping. If it doesn't, can I still play?"

Wife to husband: "OK, but you have to try to sell it first."

Hence the nine million dollar opening bid.

              Sorry.... that is not correct.

And if it WAS correct, that is NOTHING compared to the $9M he would be getting FOR it (if it sold). You have to keep things in perspective.

And when looked at in THAT light, it is nothing.

But did I miss something? I looked and it seems that this is a JOKE and not serious. EBAY said that there was NO bidders for this item... go figure!

And that being the case, does EBAY charge for things that do NOT sell? Will he be charged the $65000 for listing that item, as Nitroduck suggests?

              I would say not...
              Taken directly from EBAY:
              If you're a seller, you'll be charged:

An insertion fee. This fee is between 30 cents and $3.30, depending on your opening bid.

A Final Value (final sale price) fee at the end of your auction. This fee generally ranges from 1.25% to 5% of your final sale price.
And what was the final sale price? $0.00

You can read more at their site:
We charge two main types of selling fees: an insertion fee when you create a listing, and a final value fee when your item sells.

And it is pretty clear that this person only gets charged his Insertion Fee. No sale was made. I would say that because of the opening bid price, he would be out a grand total of $3.30

So you pay just for listing?

I thought that if nobody bid on the item Ebay did not charge you.

No fee for no sale. Only if it sells. But I am thinking of putting a mag up on there for a cool 2 Mil. I will gladly pay the Fee!

I'll let you guys know when it's up!

You will see the following (and much more):
When you list your item for sale at eBay, you pay a non-refundable Insertion Fee. Insertion Fees vary by the type of listing you choose:

Yes sorry I thinking about the percentage fee for sale wich is what Nitroduck was trying to calcualte I think. Insertion fees are standard. Course he can relist it once for the same fee (I think) since it didn't sell! But...I think I would drop the price a bit don't you
