      great looking gun

well the only change i made was that i made a spacer that goes on thepump post. i was able to shorten the stroke considerably by doing this. its just a piece of a bic pen cap that i trimmed to size and slit so it would slide over the bolt. this is using a pump rod made out of a coat hanger. which is a smaller diameter than the real one. so you may or may not be able to do this with the real one. heres a picture of the pumpmag i put together. still got alot to do but it works. http://www.spyderea.net/forum/upload...h/mag15deg.jpg

wow - good tinker/thought. probably could shorten the stroke alot, just untill the rod starts moving up the end of the milled path, I would guess. I wonder if I coud get some brass tubing or something to experiment with...

Now I don't have a kit to work with with but one ting that has me confused from your pictorial RP is the bolt Spring. Do you leave it on the bolt or is it removed? I would think that removing the spring would make it a pump while leaving it on would make it a semi witha pump that is just there for show. Can some one please clear this up for me?

you leave the regular big spring. and add the small round wave spring behind the bolt to create "bolt stick". then when you pump it resets the bolt to the correct position.

rp youve got the right idea about where you need to adjust it to. good luck. it takes some time. helps if you dont put the little oring on the bolt until done.

mines been done and working since october. have made several changes since. the biggest being a left inlet minimag valve.

                RP,
How's it shoot? I need to rip mine apart and play with the main spring to try and stop it from going semi auto.

As for shortening the stroke, I have tried that a few different ways, the one problem you have is that with a stock rod it ends up hitting the bolt. There is not much (if any) slop in the pump stroke.

It is the lightest, smoothest pump stoke I have ever felt (besides pump-assist guns).

I would love to build a pump mag. Actually, I would prefer to see if I could make it stock class. Do you guys think a sydarm body would work? Additionally, Do you have any Idea where I could get a pump conversion kit?

Pic. story looks great- - now you've got me wanting to do that!

i wasnt sure if the correct rod would be adjustable the way mine is. i guess not. thats why i explained my pump rod. mine has a heavy stroke. i figure its because i didnt cut the buffer. didnt know i had to. probably do it tomorrow.

shoots great. mine doesn't semi at all. I have lighter pumpers as far as stroke goes, but I am working on this one, it could be even smoother.

As you can see in the pictures, I had already done some work on the spacer, it was so tight inside the pump arm that i had to pry it out the first time I put it in. Since none of my current dremmel bits would fit inside the pump arm hole, I decided to dremmel down the size of teh spacer a bit. In retrospect, I should probably have left it black and pretty and just gone and bought a bit or bits I needed to cut the inside of the arm hole a bit instead.

Once I figured out the operation (bolt reset from bolt-stick), it got easier to "tweek". And like Temo Vryce I was initially confused as to the bolt spring issue (the pucture in the .PDF seems to show that you don't use one, but it is misleading - you do need the normal bolt spring)

I did try it with the normal blue bumper and the pump stroke was heavy at the end to get the bolt reset (I had to try it before I cut it down) - once I cut it (set the wave spring on top, and traced inside with a marker and cut it with scisors), what a difference!
