Cops can be real douche-bags! ( concert story)

Tonight I went to the Senses Fail, Beautiful Mistake, and Brand New concert. It was sooooo awsome. Anyway NO AC in the building. I had to ring my shirt out 2 times, no joke. I was sweating from places I didn't know had sweat pores. Its nearing the end of the concert Brand New has 2 songs left to play. They get stopped. The lead singer says 'The cops say they everyone has to leave the building.' Of course all of us get really mad, the WHOLE club is chanting 'Fvck The Cops!!' Finally everyone starts leaving. We come outside into the street, and there is over 30 cops waiting there. All of them are yelling at US to stay out of the streets...One cop walks up to me with a Tippman M98 and tells me to get out of the street. So I do. We decide to leave (Brand New said they would do acoustic outside because they didn't get to finish their set). As I walk past one cop, he was yelling at the crowd saying 'Get your filth off the street!!'


I just had to vent, they ruined the last two songs of one of my favorite bands, ontop of they they are asreholes to us because we don't listen to KISS FM.


Anyway the concert was awsome.

Personally I don't see why your complaining about the cops. After all they were most likely told to break it up for a certain reason whether it being law or other illegal activity. I've been to several concerts that stuff like this happens. "You can't fault the police, for it's the people that control them, that have them on a short leash." I got that quote from Corporate Avenger and it's very true. So all I can say is don't hate on the police for doing their job. That and it's already over and the police get enough heat as it is.

all the cops around here are pretty nice, When i use to ride, we would always have the cops called due to people being bored and nothing else better to do then mess with kids. And i mean that the way i said that, we would either power walk them or sidesaddle if its down hill. About a year ago i went out for the first time in a wile with my friends and i was on a banshee. This guy walked up to us as we were costing down the street with a phone in his hand saying that. "guess what guys, i called the cops on your ***es." and i had to push that thing maybe a mile.. mile and a half.

but yeah these cops are nice and always told us to powerwalk them and not to worrie about anything.


but i do agree coffey, there are some real.. buttheads out there.

damn sounds like an awesome concert(till the cops showed up). i cant wait till brand new and dashboard tour in the fall. i have a bit of a strained relationship with the cops as well, but i wont get into that.

I am sorry your evening was ruined. But to call all cops that is wrong. First off, Cops just don't decide to stop a legal concert. Maybe there were too many people in that building for safety? The cops are there looking out for your best interests.

Why were they grumpy? I guarantee you that to have that many officers there and not lose covereage elsewhere, they either called in more officers or held them over from the prior shift. Either way, they are working involuntary OT and may have other things they wanted to do.

As for the TIppy, officers are trained far to well to point ANY weapon at people unless they are threatened.

Many of my friends are cops. They are to a man great people who get paid squat for a very dangerous job. I could never do their job because I couldn't take the pay cut.

Hell Mango is a cop, why don't you ask him about their behavior!

Huh?

I am not a cop. My take on the job is that it is severely underpaid. I don't understand your comment.

I love my job. That being said, being a cop would be nice, but it would cut my salary by over 1/2 so it isn't going to happen. The fact that I am too old, slow, and fat to get into the academy not with standing.

I did overreact about some of that, but the cop pointed his tippman at me while I was just trying to walk to our truck. Now that part was uncalled for

As to why you guys had to leave cities are probably hyper sensitive ever since all those deaths from by the fire at a concert. They are all jerks and A-holes until bad things happen then everyone asks, "why didn't you take control of the situation and avert this terrible tragedy????? That is your JOB man!!!!!!"

I'm not saying that they made the right decision in this instance. Just saying that there typically is some rationale behind the decision.
