I'm curious about this, I've always taken out my bolt springs from my mags whenever I'm not playing with them. I just thought it would prevent the spring wearing out faster. However, I wonder if this is actually necessary? Do ya'll just leave your bolt springs on the bolt and in the gun for extended periods, or you do remove them when not playing?

I never pull mine out except for maintenance.
had mine in after having it sit for about 5 years. put some oil in and chrono'd with no problems.

Mine sat for just under 8 years... shoots like the day I bought it
Springs, like most metals, wear out by movement not static load. There might be some loss of "spring" over time, but it would be so small that it wouldn't be noticed.
