it could be a chopped barrel that was threaded for A/C threads. had a few like that.

hmm. odd, there's machine marks on it. was planning on selling it but second guessing the worth

Might want to check "Doc's" recent feedback...I bought one and paid immediately on Oct 2nd. Refunded by ebay on Oct 25 after no response to refund request. I'm afraid the Doc isn't in.
