I think it was determined that you cant do the CF and pump milling together because the channel would be too thin.

Correct! I cannot do the CF modification on pump milled bodies.
AH-HA!
Darn. :(
Got mine in today. Great quality work.
I'll take one...PM me your Paypal and shipping addy please.
Two spots left, everyone!
Just a heads up, I am going to be out of town for the next week. I will pick back up next weekend and be able to complete any CF modded bodies received by then.

If your valve is locked in place by the field strip screw, there's no stress on the CF tube. It doesn't look like it would ever "wear out".
Correct! From all the modifications I've done over the years, I've not had one person come back to me and ask for a replacement CF tube.
ill take one of the last spots for the carbon body mod, thanks:headbang:
I've got you marked down. One lonely spot left!
here is mine first minimag XMT body to be done.:headbang:

If this mod is possible on a vertical tac body I will take the last spot. Lmk, ill shoot payment to you. Thx Joseph.
never seen this on a tac body, may look pretty crazy, or weird, haha...either way you'd be the first i know to do that to a tac body...warpedmephesto, can you pm me details on where to ship and payment info also...thanks:headbang:
Keiko...no doubt, either sick looking to match the DW grip and barrel or its gonna look very weird! Lolol here is shipping and Paypal info, picked this info up on his thread...

Thanks for posting that information, Stedspitcher. Unfortunately, I cannot do the CF modification on a Tac One body.

Correct!
Andy,
Are you out or still taking work for these?
I also need two or more dogbone milled am/mm rails.
and so i don't have to send my stuff to multiple machinist, do you do freak boring or cocker threading by chance?
LMK
Thanks,
Scott
Scott,
I have one slot open on the last of my CF modifications. If you want it, its all yours. No problem on the rails, but I'll have to pass on the barrel work - too many irons in the fire right now.
-Andy
Sold! Well, that does it, boys - no more CF modifications for the time being. I'll let you all know if/when this becomes available again.
Thanks to everyone over the years for your support!
To everyone that currently has a body sent out to me to be modified: I will be completing all of these mods this weekend and should be shipping them all back out on Monday.
Thanks!
yeah!:headbang: thanks
pm's are full, sent you a message on FB
Got mine in today and having some issues. Seems like the body is sliding backwards just slightly. It is enough to cause the body to interfere with the sear. When I compare to another CF body that I have, I noticed that the hole in the body that the on/off pin goes through is slightly larger in the old body vs the new. Not sure if the previous owner did this. When I swap the CF insert from one body to the next, the old one works in the new body. I don't have a problem increasing the hole size slightly in the new CF insert, but not crazy about the small gap that is appearing between the body and the CF insert. Its a black marker and the raw aluminum sticks out like a sore thumb. Anyone else having this issue? Is gluing the CF insert to the body the solution? If so, what glue?
Inserts are the same length, so not sure what that will accomplish.
Thinking some simple two part epoxy will do it from a couple of things I read.
OPBN-
I purposely did not use any kind of glue to attach the CF tube to the remainder of the bodies. The CF tube slips on with a very slight press fit instead. I did this in case, for whatever reason, the CF tube cracked, or was crushed under misuse - the user could simply pull off the old one and press on a new sleeve. I would not recommend using any kind of glue or epoxy on the interface for this reason.
I'm not sure how exactly the new tube could differ from one I've done in the past because I've always used the same dimensions. The sear slot and on/off pin are scaled down a bit from a ULE body, but have worked great in all of my testing and for many other users. Could you get a picture of the slot and holes from the two different sleeves side by side so I can see whats going on with them?
The slots are the same. The only difference is that the hole that the the sear pushes the on/off through is larger on the older one I have. Both inserts seem to slide back a little when I fire the marker which then causes the insert to slightly block the on/off pin. The larger hole in the older one keeps this from happening.
Warped, If you ever continue this upgrade put me on the next list!
Thank you sir!
OPBN -
So when the new sleeve is correctly installed (and hasn't slid back yet) everything works fine? If that is the case, then thin coat of blue Loctite between the CF sleeve and body should provide the extra adhesion needed to keep the sleeve from vibrating loose. I would use blue Loctite as you can heat it up to break the bond if you ever need to later on. This is the first case I've ever run into of this happening, but I don't doubt what you're saying.
Let me know if that works or if we need to try something else.
Yes.
I'll try this. I would say it was an aberation of some sort, but it happens with both inserts on the same body. I need to try the inserts with the other body and see it if does it as well. Honestly, the other one I have has been sitting here for some time. I didnt notice any issues with it, but since the one hole is milled out a bit, it wouldnt have the issue. Can't say if I noticed whether it slid back or not.Quote:
