Thread: Tactical Automag prototype thread. Please help.

True. The JCS stocks are very nice. To me they are the exact same thing as a t-stock tho. No comfortable or ergonomic buttplate, or cool looks. I like the air thru nipple being right under the arm, and the Spec Ops stocks look quite a bit better.

I am usually not one to consider looks as a super important thing, but with the two products side by side I personally would choose the Spec Ops one. The JCS, to me, is the logical inexpensive but uglier alternative.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so they say

I guess I'm just biased because I own the JCS stock, I will agree that it isn't as "cool" looking but, it isn't uncomfortable

famousgamer, you should send a picture or two over to the folks at qloader.com, they already have a picture of some concept art from this thread. They'd probably get a kick out of the final product.

Got teflon tape? Wrap some around the nipple's threads before screwing it in to make it airtight.

LOL. The Lonewolf fund, hehe. Dude, I cant wait to see your uber Longbow. Uberbow? hehe.

I agree with you Psy that the JCS stock are great. They really are. I just have a personal preference to the nipple placement of the Spec Ops stocks, and the choice in Spec Ops stocks as well. To me, they are quite sexxxay.

I do like the big scoop in the JCS buttplate quite a bit, as it holds more of your shoulder and takes more weight off the marker. The Spec Ops SAW stock has a hook at the top to take weight off, tho it would be nice to see a stock with a larger scoop like the JCS. If you were to take the JCS scoop and make that shape into a Spec Ops molded buttplate, then I would be sold.

Teflon tape! Thanks Borph. I think I could get my local tech to do that for me I think. That way I can get my nipple in a better position and just stick it down there. That would be nice. Thanks dood.

Man you have just enlightened me, can you make a butt plate that attaches to stock mounting holes like you described, I'd be willing to pay for that... PM me if you're interested

Ok so im working on my own custom platform right now for the Tac thats modular with a air trough adjustable stock (length and vertical placement) in 3d and will mill it but now i have a question.. ANy one know the specs on the RIS mounts? or know where ican get them the exact measurements and what not so ican make a coupler and not have to guess like a drawing of the RIS its self male and female end with measurements.

Been looking with no luck so far

Only bummer is that website tacks on a $3 surcharge if your order totals < $20 so I added this $3.41 pistol holster instead. heh

Most folks want their feed toward the inside. Righties get warp left, lefties get warp right.

  13. #613
thats what i have noticed, but with a right handed cross body sling up, it would hang tighter with the feed tube on the outside

also with a red dot and both eyes open, a right feed would have less visual clutter for the left eye...

What y'all have brewed up is a really nice paradigm shift.

i posted FGs image to spec-ops last week

You're lucky to find one with the AGD Back Bottle Adapter included. They've been OOP for a while. Fortunately, gas-thru stocks are CHEAP now! I paid through the nose for mine several years ago.

I also recommend Pro Line's Pro Connect. It's "a high pressure nitrogen quick disconnect and shut off combo. Made of stainless steel, rated at 5200psi." -shireonline

Well, if you are going with the Q in the stock... you'll need a warp left.. otherwise the feetube would have to go around the body.. Because the Q socket has an offset feed, if you are putting the Qloader behind the feedport, get a warp left, if you are going in front of the feed port, a warp right is better...

    Lo

Well this is my version of a Tactical Mag:

The Q's CMS upgrade kit lets you turn the feed tube at any angle you want. Definitely a must for this kinda mod.

That's an interesting view. I like the spring loaded feed. What kinda milsim mod is that? Could you take a wider shot?

    Sniper1 Tactical Multi Platform Project

    5/23/2006 8:20 AM

Well god willing UPS is on time today I will have two TAC-ONE Warp setups and 2 Vertical feed bodies to boot. Second this thing gets in my hands im heading over to the studio and I will be running a 3d scan of the body so I can work on the rough prototype of the assault platform and sniper platform I intend on building and have been working on. If all goes will ill have some early layouts to show you guys and really want to see what you guys think.

My goals are to build a modular design to swap the two bodies quickly and easily to be able to switch from the assault body (warp body) or sniper body (vertical feed will not use a hopper but a clip system) each with a unique platform that compliments it.

There will be only one stock for both platforms and will be adjustable with air trough the stock with a pro quick connect at the rear of the stock similar to the placement of the spec ops non adjustable stock.

I do not want to add unnecessary weight to the marker. The design Famousgamer has implemented has inspired me to work on the trigger frame as well. I will stick with non electronic frames but I will be looking to make a similar frame to the FN F2000 grip or the FN P90 so I called up a friend of mine who does product design to see if he can get me a line on a resin based CNC machine to cnc out a plastic resin version of the grip and frame.

One thing I am also considering is some sort of forward stock system for additional RIS pictanary abilities but still undecided again looking to mill this all out of aluminum light and strong but more I do more weight I add.

The real world guns im using as inspiration are the FN SCAR http://world.guns.ru/assault/as70-e.htm and the AMP DSR1 http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn38-e.htm Please understand in no way do I intend on making this TAC look like the real thing I intend on making this as functional as possible for tactical style scenario play and switch quickly between either assault role play or sniper roles if I decided to do so at a big game and not be forced to spend a hour off the field changing my rigs configuration.

I will keep you guys updated as I go along…

On a side note I am not 100% sure I want to keep these bodies black. I met a guy who does real m16 Anodizing and has done this gun specifically and I do like the pattern but he is expensive do you guys know of any other places that would have the ability to do a good anodizing job like this:

    5/23/2006 1:55:21 PM
Ok so I decided to not post right away till I had some more to show so let me apologize no for the insanely large post

UPS guy just caught me off guard ringing my bell was dead middle of doing a 60 gallons water change on my fish tank but here is the goods fresh out of the box and I must say AGD packaged it good.

I ended up with the Milled rail Being I ordered the Warp Tac One and then a vert body (cheaper that way) it automatically ships with the milled rail because I did not request it or pay extra or I just got lucky I guess… and as you can see everything is x2 ill give more details as to why later. But any way my next step here is to get these bodies into 3d so I can start brining my sketches to actual models so I can try and make this work. Stock is first.

One thing I do want to say is that I am a bit disappointed that AGD only moved the feed neck I do wish AGD would of moved the or made the top RIS longer the whole point of the 45* angle RIS right/left is because of the vertical feed obstructing your view but now the longest rail is obstructed by the warp (left 45* angle) and top not long enough for most red dots or NVS and right 45* same length as top due to where the air line runs in. So this is now a major thing to correct on my todo list. Ill post pictures of this as I go.

Wish me luck ill keep you all posted.

ya haven't seen my M1A, Borph?

its a beauty and was April's mag o the month:

  23. #623
    Zox, your my hero.

One of my first mil sim ideas was to take the new M14 sopmod kits and mill a fake M14 receiver. you took the idea from my mind and made exactly what i was thinking. if you dont mind my asking, did you mill the Reciever or just take a real one and cut it up, and how did you bed it into the stock?

Freakin awesome either way though. Thats hawt.

  24. #624
it was an ebay pick up that i modded:
    http://www.extremesportsandhobbies.com/m14.html

the receiver is a cast plastic piece molded off of a real one

  25. #625
ahh, very nice job, I wanted to put mine in one of these,

    Link to my idea

never turned out but your's inspired me.

  26. #626
You bring up an interesting point Sniper1. What is the point of making a warp left or tight Tac One body when you can now see right over the top? Why not at that point make the pic rails simply follow along the top line?

That is basicly the reason I choose to go with the standard ULE warp body, and add that sight rail from I&I Sports.

I personally choose warp left because that would allow me with a little more flexibility than the warp right. Fpr example, I could run a warp feed or a Q Loader in any position (front, under, or back) with it warp left. If I went warp right I could only run the Q Loader from the front. Anywhere else and the tube would impact my hand. Same with the warp feed. For a right handed shooter, warp left does not look as nice but is way more flexible.

You know Doc, with a little milling my Q stock design could really be brought to the next level, and it would be nice if you tried one out. Id love to see what you could come up with. I have been really impressed with your work in the past.

This is a great off the shelf mag. There is that nice JCS stock. Very cool. It is good to know you can fit that ASA and the stock plate all on the same bottomline of the gripframe.

good deal on a back bottle adaptor:
