This thread sort of got me inspired to nock my game level up a notch... Decided rentals were bad quality, expensive over time, and not performing the way I wanted. Also figured that what was bugging me the most was manouverability and exposure to hopper hits.

Just got things from the hardware store to mount the Q-Loader and direct my PF Left down to it. I'll have to make the 'L' bracket out of aluminum later to save on wieght. I dogleged the brakcet an now it angles correctly into my shoulder no mater what direction I shot. Also the Q-Loader is low enough that my face is perfectly lined up with the barrel. Ballence is really good also. I've also adapted a light daypack to hold my remote air close to my body to reduce wieght movement.

Nice job on that set-up. Making it work for you is what its all about.

Can you comfortably shoot that one handed? It looks like it

  6. #726
yeah everything is ballanced real good. I was sort of worried about the dog leg since it is fairly bent. Haven't played a game with it yet but I have been running around the house aiming around corners, etc. It seems that no matter where I turn the Q-loader is always jammed in my shoulder at the same comfortable position. I also noticed that the back of the marker is really nice and close to my mask so I have a very compact form.

Ok, i'm kinda coming into this thread after a lot of ideas have been said, so if i make some repeats, please bear with me.

First of all, The marker set-up i have is an automag with an x-valve, q-loader, and the tac one warp right mainbody. However, my q-loader is mounted to the bottom right of the bottom of the gripframe, instead of under the barrel. I am also using an E-mag rail because it is a little bit longer on the front (same length as the tac-one mainbody), most of which is good, solid metal with pleanty of thickness to thread into, if i need it. It would negate any ability to thread into back of the rail, but it's a trade-off i guess. For what you're doing though, it looks like you need the metal on the back.

I would definitely recommend the tac one mainbody for what you are trying to do, because it already has sight rails built onto it that are about as close to the barrel as they can get, plus it keeps your profile about as low as it can get. I have my holographic red dot sight mounted on the angled rails near the back because it makes the sight picture proportionally bigger, as well as allowing me to still sight down the barrel for snap-shots.

Secondly, if you are going for accuracy and as little shots as you need to take out a player, ditch the warp feed and go with the q-loader, especially if you will be carrying a few pods anyway. When you do, buy the CMS upgrade right off the bat, because it allows for many more mounting options, most of which are a lot more convenient than right under the barrel. Plus, it would be extremely easy to make a mounting plate to mount it on the inner side of the stock, opposite of your shooting arm, which would keep it out of your way as well as flying paintballs (big problem under the barrel, in my experience). I also intend to bend a piece of copper pipe to go over the feed tube, because if it gets hit, the paintballs inside will break, and that's worse than chopping a ball.

To a certain extent, the less your gun can weigh, the easier it will be to accurately aim with it, because it will be that much less weight to hold on your target. Also, I would think twice about doing anything that has no other purpose than looks, unless it doesn't add weight or otherwise change any functionality issues. I think i like the drawings the best that uses an adapter to make use of the air-thru longbow stock, i think it just looks a lot neater and lighter.

One other thing to think about, is where the center of balance will be on your gun, depending on how you are having your set-up. I believe that overall, you will want the center of balance on your gun to be near the gripframe, or possibly just behind it. I have not played much with a remote, but without the bottle on the gun, it may change the balance of the gun, either for the better or worse. Just something to keep in mind. If you find that something else works better for you, then probably go with that.

Also, with comments made about how a paintball player shoots vs shooting a real gun, it is true that it is very different. With a real gun, you want your cheek pressed up against the side of the stock, and you obviously can't do that with a mask on. One way i tend to aim when i want to be as accurate as i can, (usually from kneeling or a similar position, but it works standing as well) is I will have my right arm positioned as normal, but my left elbow will be resting on my side, with part of the gun resting in my left hand. This even allows you to be fairly accurate standing because the gun has fairly solid support straight to your waist, which doesn't usually move much unless you are moving. If the position i'm in will allow it, i might even rest my right elbow against my body as well, as it just adds more support.

Well, i hope i was helpful. Feel free to email me at musik7@gmail.com if you want to chat about things more, just let me know you're from agd.org

I obviously do not think that paint volume is the only thing that matters. If I take Tyger, clone him, outfit both of them in identical clothing but give one a pump and 200 rounds (clone 1) and the other a TAC-ONE and 1000 rounds (clone 2), put them both in my specially designed woodsball arena of doom, we dont have to ponder very long on who will the victor. If each of them is sent to a different team, we know who is most likely to contribute more to his teams victory. Which is the more versatile player, more capable of changing his style of play as the game develops. There is nothing that Clone 1 can do that Clone 2 cannot do. Sneak, stealth, one shot, one kill etc. However there is much that Clone 2 can do that Clone 1 cannot. Two identically skilled and experienced players with drasticly different capabilities. Im not trying to argue that pumps are boring or have no place in the game. If pump play fits player X's budget, style of play, for whatever reason, have at it. I'm all for people doing what makes them happy.

I'm more than ready to listen. Lay it on me.
This test wouldn't work. First off each clone would know what the other would be doing and would most likely do the exact same thing. Hence the balls would be hitting each other in mid-air.

Kind of like if you cast Mirror-Image and had the images fight.

Anyway ... I won't get into it about who's better and what performs the best. I'll have to side with Tyger and say that you just don't know yet what you're talking about.

Or maybe say this. If you played pump before, and felt it was "lacking" then maybe you weren't "pumping" properly.

Nowadays you can get a blouse and pants for the same price as ACU or MARPAT BDUs, as they are made overseas. Check out Ebay. Special Ops also has all their harnesses and vests availible in Multicam to match. You can even get Multicam hose covers and hats for cheap.
Maybe in Canada, but here in the USA Crye has customes looking into things and having Oversea's stuff made confiscated. Something about copy right infrigment.

Anyway ... I have some Multi-Cam's that were made in China, and though they are made in the right size, they are made to fit a guy with a ten year old butt .... So I had to get the pants made in a slightly larger size just so they would fit right.

But yeah ... Mutli-Cam is in my books the best out there. They really did their research and didn't just throw something together to be fashionable.

A stock in line with the body interferes with a good sighting plane.

Done. Same length and placement of grip and foregrip. Plus no wrist strain at all due to the forward angle of the zgrip. Shoulder this marker and the sight appears right in front of your eye, no head bending, no hunching to see through the sight. Simply put, it is right where it needs to be.

Or you can go with this.

Of course Rehkal's is fantastic. I watched him part her together and decided I want one too. Mainly cus I don't want my shroud to get all jacked up during play.

Tis a good question and I think I have the answer.

    I saw this:

    On ebay.

So Life probally happened and he gave up the project and sold the marker as it was in that pictures. I think it even said something along the lines of him getting out of paintball. But I may be mis remembering that. Or someone made an identical marker and sold it on ebay. No likely, but possible.

That's either a fake auction or him making some duplicates for fun and profit. He actually made his marker, looked a lot like that but covered in MARPAT, I believe. He did mention that he wanted to do this as a sort of limited production thing, like an alternative to the Longbow. But yeah, he actually made the marker and it came out great, there are pictures of it floating around somewhere (maybe even this thread, but I'm not bothering to look).

The pictures of it with camo are located on this thread. But even according to what he said himself, the camo he put on is easily removed. He also mentioned he was thinking of removing it at one point or another.

Plus. His last post was over a year ago. The auction I saw was only a few months ago.

You could mount a Qloader underneath each arm brace. That would be sweet. 200 paintballs ready for CQC!

As I sculpt my Seburo housing, Ill keep pics and post them in a new marker creation thread.

I hope you have these manufactured, and sell these. You are a very gifted sculptor.

    Designer Issues

I myself have been working on a prototype woodsball marker, but the main issue that I have found is that I have no idea if the patents are still active for the blow-forward valve. If anyone knew it would be great, because I would really like to use this design.

Another thing about all of those designs people have shown. I see that for some reason most guns in this forum have the stock extremely low. This is not good, especially for fast shooting markers such as automags. When the marke fires, recoil, however small, goes backwards. Having a stock below the valve assembly multiplies the recoil by much more than people think. This creates the gun to "jump" up more when it shoots, and when firing full auto this is bad for accuracy. Now imagine a line drawn through the barrel and bolt assembly. Where this line goes out the back of the gun is the ideal spot for the stock to rest. This sends recoil directly into the shoulder and minimizes accuracy stealing recoil (by the way the technical term is called an inline stock). Now I know that by the end of this you're probably saying "What's he on mags have no recoil." Now try to use a tank or stock at the level the bottomline is and fire full auto. Kinda hard to aim like that. It would be much simpler for the designs to have an inline stock with a raised sight rail for clearance. Feel free to critisize, just my view.

The problem with that is with a stock that high you can't get your head behind the marker and you don't have a proper line of sight. You could get closer to that ideal with a dogleg stock like SpecOps makes, but it's still not a perfect situation as long as you're wearing a mask.

I would agree with the stock position vs recoil issue if we were discussing firearms. With paintball guns, I have NO problem controlling the recoil that is associated with ANY paintgun. I have an Emag with a Morlock board and have set it up for full auto and had the stock in the bottomline position and could drop balls one on top of another. You have to be realistic when you mention recoil. Is there recoil in paintguns? Yes. Is it comparable to firearms? NO!!
