    Faulty O'Rings

    Me and a few friends both bought a few Automag spares kits to fix standard on/off tap leaks and power tube leaks.
    I replaced both the lower o'rings in my On/off tap and re-assembled the gun - when i gased it up, it would work for a couple of shots then it would pack up and the o'rings would poop out of position (middle o-ring slips out). After trying various times to fit these o-rings using vaseline to try and secure them i gave up. Tryed a different o-ring from the pack and it worked!!!
    My friend had excatly the same problem with his power tube.

    In the end we gave up buying spares kits for basic orings, and buy them from the local hardware store for close to nothing.

    My on/off & Power tube consits of all standard rubber o-rings and i havent had a single problem with them. (They have been in there for at least a month)

    Has anyone else discovered this??

    AGD parts kits. Never got a bag ring out of one yet.

    Must have been a bad batch, they just wouldnt stay tight.

    However im not to fussed because now i have saved x amounts of money buy just using standard rubber o-rings!

    Ok then When my o-rings last for years and you replace yours ever week

    were the AGD kits? Our orings cost us about 25 cents each because they are cast urethane. The ones in the store are black nitrile and are worthless. co2 and oil will penetrate them eventually and they swell up and die.

    Yes the Faulty ones were AGD ones, bought from www.airgun.com/europe

    I dont use C02, so spending £16 on a spares kit (where various o-rings have been faulty) is a waste of money.

    Vasoline could be your problem, you're never suppose to use any petroleum based lubricant on your o-rings, it causes them to swell and get weaker.

    yeah it is a standard on/off tap.
    Vaseline wasnt the problem, as they were brand new o-rings, which i didnt lubricate until they wouldnt fit.
