going from lvl 10 to lvl 7 questions

First question: is there a way to get a foamie on the front of the bolt? (like get that metal thing off the front)

Last question: do I just take all the level 10 parts (tip, carrier, o-rings, shims, and that little nylon washer) out of the valve? What's the diff between lvl7 and lvl 10 power tube tips?

    Thanks,
    Sky

You have to buy a lvl7 bolt especially made for foamies.
Yes, just take all of that out. With the lvl7 set-up, all you should have is a spacer, O-ring, and powertube tip.

EDIT: OOOOOPS!! I meant spacer, not carrier.

Thanks, they should call you answerful.

Um... a lvl7 carrier, what does that look like? and powertube spacers, what part do those play?

That should be everything that you need I may have missed one though

Just curious, why are you going back to LVL7? Efficiency, simplicity, other, or all of the above?

EDIT: for the spacers, you'll only need one. I only have one spacer, and have not needed to change it out or switch sizes ever (4 years now.) The kit is not a bad idea though.

Thanks for the links, so there is no such thing as a lvl 7 carrier? and to answer your question... all of the above is good, plus I have most of a lvl7 already, the lvl 10 has at least some resale value, and I was thinking about putting an ACE board in my emag.

Sorry, I meant spacer, not carrier!

Powertube spacers determine at what point in the bolt return the dump chamber is closed. If your spacer is too small, the dump chamber will close early, and your bolt will not be returned all the way. Your sear won't be able to catch it and the result is "bolt stick". If your spacer is too big. . . I don't know what would happen, perhaps a constant leak!

Fair enough As stated above, he meant spacer. I knew what he meant though. I should have cleared it up in my post. Sorry.

Anybody have some numbers for the efficiency between the 2 bolts, like how many shots on a 68 for both? I am starting to want to go back to a level bolt as well.
