    apex2 ported or no-ported

Im in need of another barrel and will be getting a DW 8". The plan is to put a apex2 tip on it and I am trying to decide if I want porting on it or not. Does anyone have any experience the the apex on ported vs non-ported barrels or any opinion on the performance difference. I know that the apex has its issues ,that is not being discussed here, the porting is of importance so please don't try to dissuade me from putting an apex on a barrel.
    Thanks for your input!

If you're talking about the barrel itself, I would not port an 8" barrel.

agree, but in general I don't think the apex tips acts any different with or with out porting on the barrel.

Only thing that will change is your sound signature, the paint ball leaves the breach of the barrel at the same fps. (if tuned so)

you find just the apex2 tip sold with no barrel?

    Arrow Lapco.us

    Lapcos are what I use.
They self clean better than any other I've tried.
    8" Bigshot on the mag.

10" Bigshot Assault with Apex tip on the Drone.

The Apex2 tip doesnt use o rings like the original did.
I'm just wondering, aside from ghetto-izing a carbon fiber barrel with electrical tape or something (seems like tape would wreak havoc on the carbon fiber) , how are you planning on attaching it ?

This is what I was thinking as well. Thanks for sharing.

Word on the web says that DW is putting out an apex adaptor for their barrels. Check their facebook page!

you can use the J&J adapter, just add few wraps of masking tape and it fits fine. depending on how DW does it though, I like this set up cause the tape protects the barrel from the set screws.
