    minimag retro design

It's only a sketch, but comments, advices and critics are welcome

I'm not going to manufacture these now, but if I find someone with proper milling machine somewhere around, maybe I will.

    *EDIT*
Sorry guys, I lost my job and had to sell most of my paintball gear to fill money gap and move to another projects. I'm back on horse now and finnishing 3d model, it should be ready next weekend.

I'm looking for someone in U.S. who is interested in manufacturing these.

    thanks,

If you make a new body.
make a new and matching rail.
I speak from experience on this one.

    On another note:

I like that clean look your going for there,.. pretty sharp!

Did you try a rendering where the front slots on the body are offset each time by half like the original MM body?

What about a longer body in the front for a classic look thats just simply longer?

Edit: Are you using Inventor 10 for that model?

Like this idea maybe matching the groves in the body. Either short ones on the back and front of rail or going all the way down the full lenght of rail or just at the front end.

This would be badass. I'm not concerned about a custom rail. Don't think it'd look right to me unless it sat on a classic rail anyway. My only concern is its cost. My finances just don't allow for a $500 body.

What about designing an oldschool feed neck for it? Have it mount similiar to a Spyder so you could have both vert and warp/powerfeed options.

Exactly, all I ever wanted my entire Mag life is a lightweight vertical feed Minimag with cocker threads!!!!! Slap this sucker on a AM/MM rail and boom goes the dynamite. I would be in for one. Or perhaps put this on one of the new style RT ULE rails with the deep grooves cut in the sides, they would match the grooves on that body perfect.

Keep up the good work, this looks fantastic!!!!

rail is not planned so far, want to keep the price as low as possible
I don't have documentation for rail and I had to sell my mag so I can't do required measurments

But if there will be enough interest, I'll do it in phase 2

Yep, I tryied offset slots but there is no space for them, but I didn't tryied longer body - I used slug body dimensions

I've used Rhino for that, Inventor is too expensive for such a small project, I'm not engineer and have no use for such a robust sw

I'm sorry for very late reply to every subscribed mag lover, I hope that this concept inspired some creative person and has been turned in to reality to make someone happy.

    Best regards,
