Thread: Ultra Light Titanium Emag/xvalve Parts

    Ultra Light Titanium Emag/xvalve Parts

Im putting together a phoenix emag for myself. The plan is to make all the stainless steel parts in the gun out of titanium and do some extreme ULE machining..both milling and turning.
Im also looking into a lighter battery

I am making the X valve velocity adjuster, power tube tip, bolt, thumb screws, safety, and mode selector out of titanium and then i will will have them titanium anodized or maybe just polished or both..not sure on the finish yet.

I have cut a full ounce off the gun with just these two parts. I will be making the rest in the next few weeks.

POST IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BUYING TITANIUM PARTS!!!

Now if you could make that bolt a L7 and make the powertube internal diameter at least 1 mm larger that would be something. As many think this is the limiting factor for lower pressure operation. And better efficiency. There is room to go bigger with the power tube in a L7 bolt I think.

Glad you guys like. Yes you guys are right Titanium is expensive metal and its also expensive to machine because it just eats the cutting tools up and it takes much longer to machine compared to stainless...But these are small parts so it should not be too much money. I will keep you posted on price.

I will need to make them in batches of no smaller than 12 pieces to justify the setup time.

i can saftly say i need 6 powertubes and adjuster screws for my x-vlaves. but i would need them to be installed and and something close to guarntee that they would not get mar'd or scratched in that process.

    any thoughts on this?

ok once you get the sales thread up on these parts, of course again with pricing my numbers may change up or down, i should be interested in the other parts seeing the benfits of weight and such.

looking forward to the new parts thread.

Wonder how much it would cost to make a classic valve front?

  24. #24
I scrapped this project...TI is too expensive and it eats tooling. Guess I may be the only one in the world with a ti valve adjuster and power tube tip. Tuna notified me the power tube is patented....can't tread on agd.
