Played a little pump this weekend

Played with my pump Mag during the "Pump and Pistol" session at LL5 and had fun. Would have been more so had the paint not been crap and every other shot hadnt come spraying out of my barrel like shotgun pellet, but still a good time. Don't think I am ready to take up pump permanently, but was a nice change of pace.

One thing I did notice was that a lot of the pumps out there had autotriggers. Honestly, with as fast as some of those guys were able to shoot those things, it didn't seem like they had any disadvantage over a mechanical semi like a 98C. I think a lot of those guys were putting out more paint per second than I was every able to acheive with a stock 98.

I also came to the conclusion that CCM pumps are sexy. Good thing I am on somewhat of a paintball marker buying sabatical or our bank account would be several hundred dollars lighter within the next week or two.

This is what I was using:

It now actually have a CF MM body. The valve is capped and I tried using it with the devolumizers, but found it was impossible to get the FPS over the mid 200's using the BL reg. Perhaps with a higher output reg it would have been possible, but its what I had and since I wasnt going to use 12g's it didnt seem like it was worth the effort. Figured trying to fiddle with 12g's on my first outing might be too much of a pain. FYI, with 12g's I was able to use the devolumizers and could get the FPS needed with under 600psi input to the valve.

One thing I did notice was that in trying to use the Winchester 50rd hopper that the balls did not feed particularly well. Whe I took it off, I found that ball often times stuck in the top of the feedneck. Is this common for this hopper? Is there a better small hopper on the market? I have seen Sport Shots before, but no idea how good they are. I saw a lot of people using Rotors, but I doubt the detents on my MM body would be able to keep it from double feeding on a forcefed hopper.

Not really sure of the reason on this post, but just felt like sharing I guess.

I think people sand the inside of those hoppers, or at least a particular vintage of them. Allen Paintball products (APP) has a 50 rounder that does well.

Tried sticking my finger in to see how much meat was there to file/sand, but its hard to tell. It was pretty cheap, might just try and if it screws up, just buy something else I guess.

Yes, sand the inside of your Winchester hopper. That will fix your feeding problems. The new Extreme Rage Sport shots work really well on my CCM T2. Unless you are using an electric hopper you will need to jiggle your setup roughly every few shots. The pump stroke on a mag is super smooth since it's only resetting the bolt. Other pumps require more force since bolt, hammer and such need to be cocked, resulting in agitation of the hopper.

Loving the look of your pumpmag.

Thanks. Finally got the car cleaned out and my gear inside. Figured I owed it an updated pic:

Changes made: CF MM body, Polished up valve, TL Freak kit, stainless lines. Yes my Hitman mod is ghettotastic.

I was amazed at the amount of attention this thing got in the short time I had it out.

That is sweet looking pumpmag. As a proud owner myself, I love the centerfeed minimag bodies!
You like the feedneck that high?

You know Ando is going to flip when he see another cut vert body

I don't actually think it's cut, just looks like it had the basket removed. What's odd is when I first got it, the finish still looked bead blasted like it does when it came from the factory. I kinda like the height. Gets the hopper up out of the way and being able to see the hole in the back of the feedneck helps keep an eye on whether its feeding or not.

I run a proto primo loader on my pump mag

Running a battery loader on a pump defeats the object of shooting one in the first place

OPBN, is that the one from when we traded??? If so, it looks great polished up.

I can't even remember who it was I bought it from originally. I'd never seen that before either... vertical feed MM body, no cup, but no damage to the neck. Most people just attack the neck with a hacksaw, but I think someone just undid the brazing or solder, whatever is used to hold the cup on there.
