    I was banned on MCB...and I'm ok with a 3 day weekend

Soooo as part of the Tot tank fiasco I voiced my opinion about people kicking a guy while he was down and someone didn't like it.... MEH I just don't like that people are going after a guy that is already being screwed because a deal went bad.
Girls are no substatute of paintball

Murphy's law of paintball: If it jams force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyways

Eh, I agree with you, and I don't think there's any value in getting angry at TOTshadow, but at the same time, he was the one putting it together. He was the one who stood to make money for it, and he is the one that is responsible to us.

It does stink very much overall.

Making money is a relative term, he wasn't making THAT much money for the risks involved and the work put in... but I would imagine the next thing he does (if he does one) will have more of a mark up

Oh I understand. I've run similar things before, but smaller items, where I could absorb the cost of a failure.

I need to go read the terms of use for Kickstarter. I'm wondering if that may be a better platform for 'pre-orders' than what we've been doing.

I was just talking with my friend about that but as a way to develop a few of the pb ideas I had but never had the manufacturing ability for where you donate x amount of money and when it gets completed you get 1 of whatever it is....in this case a 30oz hpa tank

I missed the turn of that tank thread. That got cut in two different directions. And here I thought it was a bit of a ho-hum pre-order.

I do like the variety of marker-fu on MCB, and a pre-order is still a pre-order (apparently). We've tried to build up the AGD section, especially since they have decent picture hosting between there and paintballcity.org. However, even though mags fit the "vintage" marker aspect of MCB, the AGD section does seem to suffer somewhat from the number of "non-reader" visitors.

It is easier to trap converts there though, and then send them over here.

I read through that thread a few days back and didnt see anything ban worthy.

I dont have a dog in this fight, but find myself torn on the issue. I know TOTS is a good guy and dealt with him a couple of times, but can really feel for people that did the preorder. From a purely business POV, I would file a claim with Paypal in a heartbeat if I wasnt going to get parts I ordered. I deal in situations where we sometimes send companies money in advance for parts we need and they in turn buy them from their supplier. If something happens on their end and they get screwed, we still expect our money back. It sucks for our vendor, but thats the risk they took. This situation really is no different, just on a smaller scale.

I guess for me, it would depend strongly on how much money I was out. If it was just a $25 deposit or something I might eat it, but it appears at least one or two guys are out considerably more. I definitely wouldnt be taking the $400 hit one guy mentions. Sorry, but it just wouldnt happen.
