    Shortest twistlock barrel?

What is the shortest twistlock barrel that was made? I know the micromags used to come with a fixed barrel that was 4 inches, I think, but I seem to remember coming across a crownpoint that was only 4 inches or so. anybody come across any barrels that short, or shorter?

I'm not sure what the length ends up being, but I've seen some freak backs with the White Wolf 1" fronts.

Do we start barrel length from all the way back, or just from the detents forward?

I was playing with this idea over the weekend:

This is cocker threaded, although I could very well have swapped out with the back of my mag2cocker adapter (as is, it would just screw in).

You put a Freak insert into it, then either zip tie or rubberband or whatever the slotted end to clamp the insert in place. Obviously this is an “expert mode” barrel since half the insert is just hanging out in the open. If you slam into anything, you’re going to be buying a new insert. In fact a barrel bag that’s too tight or dirty might do some damage as well.

Anyways, Freak insert length is 5.05".
    "Accuracy by aiming."

    Definitely not on the A-Team.

i like the old skool crown point barrel cause when you sent a ball through it, it acted like a tuning fork and sang.

someone should make a tip that acts like a tunning fork

    Crown points

I've always liked the crown points as well. The ping, plus the fact that they made the 'mag loud as sin, was pretty cool to me. The first 'mag I ever saw, was set up with a very short crown point, and you could hear it clear across the field when he opened it up. Anybody have any pictures of these very short barrels that they have? I am working on a project that may need a very short barrel, and would love to see any super compact setups that people run.

A hacksaw will make a barrel any length you want.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I found these on ANSgear. The description for the back is "Automag" obviously not what is shown in the pic. They're priced at $4.95 each. Has anyone ordered these?

That's actually a THREE piece barrel. There's a longer center portion of the barrel. http://www.ansgear.com/Taso_Stone_Co...elcenter17.htm

    http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/254/

Overall length is about 17". I bought one for my Mag years ago, still have it actually. Descent barrel, extremely quiet. About as far from "short" as you can get though.

I had no idea it was like the Flasc barrels. Thanks!

    short barrel

I found a super short 4" barrel on BacciPaintball that looks almost like a stock minimag barrel, no porting or anything, i was thinking about picking it up for my minimag

A better option might be like the old WWA Justice series barrels, have the freak insert go in from the rear of the barrel and have the tip tip solid so that it can catch the freak insert.

Just perusing the Official AutoMag Picture thread and found this from Maverick13. MM2k9 with freak back and WWA crown point tip (gun's at the bottom of the photo). Check out some of the other barrels he's got on some guns, quite short, especially that "odd" twistlock on the chrome/chimera gun with the black rings on the front. https://automags.org/forums/showpost....postcount=2682
