    Question Halo chopping like crazy.

A friend of mine was chopping like crazy with his brand new Angel LCD and Halo. When he replaced it with a 12v revvy the chopping stopped. Any idea why?

thats odd, was the halo even running? And were the batteries giving off a good charge.

Try the Halo on another gun. Perhaps it is a bad Halo, after all, they are brand new and bound to occasionally have a few bugs.

I heard a few other complaints by people with angels and HALO's. I don't think they are very compatible.

Its a loader, why wouldnt it be "compatible" ??? Either
A.) He dident have the halo turned on or,
B.) He dident have the halo turned on.

I only had two chops with my halo because it has a 5 minute timer, that turns the unit OFF if it hasent been activated for 5 minutes. So he should be aware of that.

    Well...

I heard that the HALO's only preform to there maximum capability when the gun that the Halo is on is powerfeed, that is why I believe you will see powerfeed angels in not to long, I could be wrong, its what I heard though.

If it was really bad chopping, the problem was probably the detent on the HALO. The Halo may have been pushing balls past the angel's ball detent, leaving a half loaded ball and thus a chopped ball when the trigger was pulled.

Yes, it was on. I had to show him how to turn it on properly, hahaha. The batteries were brand new and appeared to power the unit fine.

We didn't try it on anyone elses gun. We should have tried that.

Are you sure about the five minutes? He is aware that it has a sleep timer. It was powered on an "working" when he was chopping.

That is what he was wondering. Anyone know what to do if that is the problem? Or how to figure out if that is the problem?

BTW, it is a brand new Angel. Do you think the ball detent might be "bad"?

Try shooting a ball with the HALO, wait for the HALO to do it's loading thing, then take the HALO off and see if the balls are half loaded or whatnot. Try it several times to be sure of your results.

If that is the case, try adjusting the HALO detent in (it's in the feedneck). Probably not all the way in, but try different positions.

He determined the problem. When he took it apart he found some "burs" (left over from casting?) that had cut some of the paintballs. After removing the "burs" and cleaning things up it appears to be working fine (350 rounds as fast as he can shoot without a break).

    Thanks everyone.
