What is the an automag classic's operating pressure?
I believe(someone correct me if I'm wrong) it takes around 375 to cycle but around 600 recommended input pressure. The force on the paintball I believe is about 75-80. Hope this helps.
So if I bought a nitro tank with a 450 output it should run fine then????
I'm thinking it would but, MIGHT give you shoot-down if you try and go crazy on the trigger. IMO, just shell out a few more bucks and get something with a higher output, that would work better and would also last you if you ended up buying a higher end Mag(RT,Emag) someday.
I would recommend getting something with a higher output than 450. I bought a Palmer Stabilizer with my minimag so that I could keep using CO2. If I turn it down to 450 the paintball will not fire at more than 250, and the trigger becomes very easy to short stroke; you will short stroke when you unload on people like mad unless you practice with it till eternity.Originally posted by The Silencer

Ok, guess I'll just get an 800 output tank. thx for the info.
glad to be able to help! good move man, it's a better long term choice.
450 is going to give you shootdown. You want atleast 200 psi between regs. The reg built into the mag brings the input pressure down to about 400. So if you are running 450 into the gun you are going to get shootdown.
You want 600 running into the gun at a bare minimum, 800 is optimal.
