Does anyone else think the body looks a bit like one of the older Tippmann markers? SL-68 or something?

If I've got my history correct, AGD began shipping the vl2000s with mags as a marketing move to combat a mag knock-off. I'm wondering if this may be the gun. Tom had a post somewhere a while back saying that they determined it was easier to offer a package that the other guys couldn't compete against price-wise than to actually go through the trouble to sue them for copying the automag's design.

When I look at it the body looks rather similar to an PMI Trracer / ACI Maveric. Which would make sense if it was a pump gun upgraded with semi-auto internals.

You are right in some ways. AGD did do that package but to combat a gun called the Colonial, which was made in the UK by a guy called Mick Holdaway who is reputed to have been the first person to ever 'free ride' a team completely. The colonial tried to be an EXACT copy of the automag but failed.

The gun on e-bay is actually a Scorpion Pump gun for which you could get the 'autoloader' conversion to make it semi. The Scorpion pump had a great reputation and was a good marker. The semi adaptor or 'autoloader' kit was actually pretty crappy and never sold very well. It was known to destroy paint and died a death, possibly helped by AGD but I don't know about that.
