Your safety is an on/off switch on the back of the gun. Those two "buttons" are for the trigger assembly.

you have to hold the button down for at least 5 seconds before it is actually turned on. Nothing happens when you just hit them.

Nothing happens when you hit the trigger pins. When you take it appart, you have to hit those pins out to get the trigger off of the frame. Lots of work to get them out.

Cris8762 My rat is a cave rat (all black) This is an old pic. I have a Halo and running HPA on it right now.

    May I add something?

On the regular smarts parts impulse, the "safefty", on/off switch rather is on the left side og the gripe frame. It's slides forward and backward for off/on. My brother just picked one up and it's kind of a pain. Sometimes you accidentally turn it off if you're holding it two handed. Thats why most of the mod'd impy's have it moved to the rear.

Also, with the crickett board or genesis board it moved the on/off to the rear. You may even be able to convert it with the stock board. I really don't know a whole lot about them, just things my brother and I have researched since he picked one up about a month ago.

Nice marker IMO, but I'd still shoot a mag over it anyday!

ALL new impulses with the cricket board (blue led) have the on/off switch on the back, they started putting those new boards in the guns around serial number 12 thousand, i have 11936 and it has the old style green and orange led, the old style board has the sliding switch on the side of the gun and the hole in the back was used to turn vision on and off

i've found it not to be a problem at all, at first i turned it off once in a while on accident, but after playing with the gun a few times, i've comfortably conditioned myself not to touch it, i love my impulse so much, it is great! now i need an emag to take the imps place (i have a regular mag right now as a backup)

I have a question my bro wants me to ask.. I'd like to know just for reference. Are the stock Boards, Not cricket, not the genisis, but the ones the first impy's shipped with. Are they capped at 13 bps? The reason I ask is my brother and I installed a magna blade on his impy. I adjusted the trigger to where it's very easy to hit 13 bps. We recorded several runs and then analyzed it in wave studio. The most it would do is 13bps. I have a strong feeling (duh) that it is capped. Soo... are the genisis and cricket boards also limited to 13bps? Since the newer models are getting crickets from the factory, are those capped at 13? Any info would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

Good luck getting Smart Parts to change the board if it is the capped one

Let me re-phrase that question... are the aftermarket Genisis and cricket boards capped at 13 bps or can they go higher?
