    hint

If you were to construct a 8 x 8 checkered square (i.e., a 8 x 8 chess board), how many squares would there be in total?

    (hint)

204 is right. You get it by figuring out how many 1x1 there are which is 8x8 or 64, then 2x2 squares which is 7x7 or 49 etc. Add them all up and you get 204...

    204 is correct

A 10 foot rope ladder hangs over the side of a boat with the bottom rung on the surface of the water. The rungs are one foot apart, and the tide goes up at the rate of 5 inches per hour. How long will it be until three rungs are covered (min. sec.)?

ooo ooo lemme make an equation and solve...

the 10 foot part is irrelevent. the rungs are 1 foot apart... goes up at a rate of 5inchs for 60 minutes

    36 inches... total...

    Thats easy.

    60(36/5)=X

    7.2 hours or 432 minutes.

***Edit***... I think the above answer is wrong

    its 36(60/5)=X not 60(36/5)=x

    NEW ANSWER!

7.2 hours or 432 minutes... crap same thing... haha must be right

The answer is 0 min. 0 sec.

The rungs will never be covered.

As the tide rises, so does the boat. heh heh... gotcha!

There is a number that is 2 times the sum of its digits.

    What is this number?

You come to a fork in the road one road leads to a bad city where everbody tells lies and the other road leads to a good city where everbody tell the truth. You are tring to get to the good city and don't know what road to take. There is also a man at the roads you don't know if he is from the good city or the bad city and you can only ask him one thing what is it.
