All the old Zelda games were fun...not sure if the original Mega Man and Super Mario Bros. counts though.

    Consoles are evil.

There is no console with games that match a computer, nor is there a console that performs as good.

But I like Zelda and the first Super Mario Bros.

ChronoTrigger was the BEST RPG ever, hands down. Baldurs Gate-style games are good too (Icewind Dale, Torment, etc), but they are for PC :-)

I'm also a big fan of all the FF games. Playstation has some good ones too, like StarOcean: The Second Story, and Legend of the Dragoon.

My choice is Parasite Eve for the original playstation.

O damn, I can't count the number of hours I spent playing that. More than 50 definatly. I really liked how the game played so I just got hooked...

    The Legend of Zelda.

Gauntlet Legends and Dark Legacy (or whatever the new arcades are named) are really great for arcades, since you can resume your progress...

I really dig the Resident Evil genre too.

Saga Frontier (the 2nd one in this series bought the farm right out of the gate)
cant go worng with a game that can be played 7 different times with a different storyline for each charcter

FF1, 2, 3, 9 (havent played the others) now when is X comin out.... i only got 3% more to go in GT3A-spec

summoner was a little stange... but still not bad if you have it for the PS2 goto the credits view them then hit X while they are scrolling..... FYI goto the bathroom before doing thing... you will thank me later

Gauntlet Legends isn't an RPG, in any way I consider it. Yes, you "level up" your character, but there is no attempt at a plotline, and all you do is hack away at badguys constantly. RPGs involve a lot more than that.

The same goes for a lot of other games people consider RPGs.

Loved the Zelda games, though in my opinion, theyve been going downhill since A Link to the Past, Love the Final Fantasy games, and Parasite Eve... ooh! and Phantasy Star, especially Phantasy Star Online.... ooh, and Breath of Fire! WOOO HOOO!

Anyone here played Final Fantasy TACTICS?

HANDS DOWN the best Consol RPG of all time. Very challanging, very origeonal.

As for PC... You can get basically any Consol Game for PC, so PC's have you consol gamers beat there too.

lol ever heard of "Bleem", "SNES9x", "Nesticle", "LameBoy" or any other of these Emulators? They take quite a powerful machine for, say Bleem (PSX) and UltraHLE (N64) and there's no analog controler available, but with a high-bandwidth connection, everything is available.

Back in my days we played RPG's a lot. Guess if you are wearing a Monks shroud and she is wearing a Little Bo Peeps outfit it would count as an RPG right?

Where's a Mod when you need one!

AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!

FF Tactics was ok, but I've never really been a fan of the whole Final Fantasy series (though I must say, the movie rocked).

BTW, I use ZNES for all my SNES emulation needs.
