Subject: eBay internal communication - Talking at desks- Please read

It has come to my attention that several employees are talking at their desks during scheduled work hours. I must convey the importance of NOT talking at your desk, or to your desk partner. Talking greatly decreases work productivity, and company morale.

If you need to talk to someone, please schedule a meeting room where you can talk, or use the break rooms. If you are caught talking at your desk, you will be escorted into a meeting room and questioned as to why you are talking, and if it is relevant to your job. If not, you may be subjected to disciplinary actions.

We want you to work hard at eBay, and enjoy your work. Please contact management if you have any questions.

    Thank you,

    Jody Rivers
    Safeharbor Manager.

Hey, what's happening? Uh, yah, if you could not talk at your desk, that would be great.

that's nothing. I wear a computer around work that tracks my movement in the warehouse and logs everything I do. at the end of the night I get a report on how much down time I have and if it's more then 30 min then I get talked to

you can imagine 15 min breaks are exactly 15 min!!

wow i must be lucky as all get out... i sit there and chat with my boss all the time. haha i work hard probably 3 hours a day and the rest of the time i just chill with my co-workers. i dont get talked to or anything! my lunch also lasts about as long as i want it(within reason-a 6 hour lunch break would be frowned on hehe) i love my job

and my employees are upset that I have noted to them that sneaking out five minutes early on Fridays has started to be more like fifteen, and then an hour. Today I had people leaving two and a half hours early...
