AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Smart Parts Patent Will Destroy Paintball! - Read!
Originally posted by Johnny_Reb While that could be true no one knows yet, so for now ICD and WDP are the only companies in danger.
Thats because both have had previous cases filed by SP against them, though closed. They now have a court date to actually persue their claims with ICD, which will set the precedent they need to persue other claims, but they NEED a win against ICD to really pursue anything else to have a chance to win, as i said previously.
I know a lot are looking for a loophole, previous art and patents, etc to try and help. Is there anything ELSE we can do? someone started the online petition, yet those mean nothing. Just to get this out there more than it is, and get more people involved and knowledgable about it. Is there anything ELSE we can do Like creating a formal standardized letter, or writen petition, or something hard rather than the internet based? Whether its to protest SP, or to support ICD, something to give them something to know that they have a lot of players and such backing? I dunno just some ideas, but is there ANYTHING we can do?
BTW i was banned from impulse owners group for explaining the meaning of the swastika and posting this picture http://www.luckymojo.com/swastika.gif
I was explaining the symbolism and debating with them over the fact they told me to not have the sp\nazi gif as my avitar, and then allowing someone to have that same pic only haev a red X across it. But just thought i'd add that they banned me because of that :) of a swastika standing for goodluck and such from 1907 :) I thought it was funny but anyways.....
it blows my mind how a company liek smart parts or any company for that matter would do this to the sport. we need to be helping our sport along right now if we want it to be popular, not being focused on how one company can make alot of money and blow everyone else out of the water. just to let smart parts know, myself and many others will not buy from their products any time soon if ever at all again.
My baby:
Classic mag
Handpolished body
Emag barrel 10"
Lapco Bigshot Stainless 12"
Gripstyx single trigger frame
Benchmark on/off cradle
Benchmark gas thru grip
What smart parts is doing is like patenting the doorknob or lightbulb. If they do win they ill lose alol their money
Lets all do this... get out our paintball guns.. hijack some airlines full of these "Special" Folks and run them into some things like The Backstreet Boys and Al Gore's Baldspot.

This is complete trivial crap. Seriously, if Smart Parts goes after AGD, Tom should turn around and counter-sue because he was the first to introduce compressed air. Let's see their little electronic Impulses run on Co2.

I will be sure to throw away my Freak and Max-Flow immediately and rip off the the SP cover from my Halo.

LOL, actually Impulses are known to run quite well on C02.

That is not true. A judge ruled (two weeks ago now) that ICD is infringing on Smart Parts' patent and ordered a trial date of September 3rd to determine the exact extent of the infringement.
