Any chance we could get the solenoid to work with a 9V? Might call for a custom emag length ULT on/off pin.
New E-Mag/X-Mag board!!!!!!

The solenoids that AGD chose to use can not be driven with a 9v source. Thats why we have to use an 18v battery.Originally posted by splat15kAny chance we could get the solenoid to work with a 9V? Might call for a custom emag length ULT on/off pin.
It has nothing to do with the board per say....._______________________

Oh I thought that since you were considering sending new solenoids with the boards we could change the operating voltage while we're at it.Comment

Operating voltage will be 5-30 voltsOriginally posted by splat15kOh I thought that since you were considering sending new solenoids with the boards we could change the operating voltage while we're at it._______________________

I would be fine with a new solenoid. I would love the idea of mole connectors on the board instead of a directly soldered on solenoid.Comment

We are going to use JST rather than Molex connectors.
And all the connectors will be thru hole rather than SMD to make them even stronger._______________________

Actually,... I should say that MOST of the connectors will be thru hole.Originally posted by p8ntbal4meWe are going to use JST rather than Molex connectors.

We talked about 1 or 2 of them being SMD (surface mounted)._______________________

You know what is the killer of that?
You can buy those connectors to plug the solenoid into that upper port now! LOL :)_______________________

Low voltage cutoff,.. I believe thats what we are going to have happen involving the solenoid ports and aux ports.Originally posted by 2old2pbAny chance the board will be LiPO freindly, i.e. low coltage cut-off?
The idea is to switch the power rather than try to regulate it on every component.
It will be more power friendly than the OEM board I can assure you of that._______________________

I haven't read through all 3 pages of info, and so far from what I've read it sounds like it'll be a good board. But has anybody approached Will from Tadao about producing a board ? He has the experience and resources to do them. I think if he could get enough interest from the AKA community to do boards for the Viking and Excal, I'm sure there'd be even more demand from the AGD Community. If you can't join em, shoot em !Comment

I talked with Will via email last year. Tadao was not interested in OEM work. Any of those guys (virtue, tadao, Hater, SE, SD) all have their PCB designs and out source the volume. The new PCB I'm developing is going thru the same process.Originally posted by ghost271I haven't read through all 3 pages of info, and so far from what I've read it sounds like it'll be a good board.
