Bidness with Dover - Feedback
how much lighter are they than the aluminium ule?
I will take some before and after weight measurements on a ULE body I'm going to modify this week and post the results.
While I'm at it, I'll go ahead and see if I can knock out Dover's body and see if we can get something going on for all of us stainless lovers.
Very interested and see how everything went???
I'd be interested in having my body modified. I'm getting a carbon fiber barrel and fore grip. May as well have my body part carbon fiber as well.
Are you still doing these?

Bahh, I wasn't notified that so many people had responded to this thread.
Yes, I am still doing body mods - send 'em on in!
And yes, I can no officially say that I can do stainless steel bodies. I have Dover's completed and it came out beautiful. I also have some weight measurements that I will post up tomorrow along with pictures of the stainless body mod.

I was digging through an old box lastnight and found an old polished stainless body! I can't wait to see your stainless pics and weight measurements!
Have you considered doing this to a minimag body? I have a friend that has one that he might be willing to donate to the carbon cause! Could you do before and after the powerfeed on a minimag body? that would be awesome!!!!!

Alright, I've teased you all long enough. I forgot to get a before weight measurement, but overall, the mod drops about 60 grams off of the mainbody, if I'm recalling correctly. The next one I do (yes, implying that I am going to be doing these) I will get before and after weight measurements for sure . Right now I can't come up with a way to make a sleeve for the front half of the body, but its something I want to work on.
Enough with the talky, on with the picky.
Happy Friday, ya'll!
Same price for the stainless mod??? ^^^
Yep! Same price!
I glanced through the older posts on this, but didnt see the answer. Is the CF sleeve permanently attached or is it pressure fit? I have a body that I am interested in having this done on, but it needs to be reanodized and need to know if it is better to send in before or after anodizing.
It is a "pressure" fit and more slips on than anything. I have one of these and once the valve is aired up it will not move.Originally Posted by OPBN
Cool, thanks. I am not really concerned about the body coming off as much as still having the ability to send the body out for anodizing afterwards.Originally Posted by SSP REAPER
I would get it cut and mod'd BEFORE anno just because the anno hardens and protects the AL a bit more than leaving it raw.... and since it's not an issue then I'd go that route.Originally Posted by OPBN

im sending mine out for ano with no problems.. i tell you what though, it makes it a lot easier to take out the ring inside the body....Originally Posted by OPBN
Yes, it does make removing the ring inside the body a LOT easier.
Looks like this has already been beaten into the ground, but just to confirm - yes, I would have the CF mod done before anodizing. Anodizing shouldn't affect the fit between the CF sleeve and the breech. Just make sure you line up the sear slot in line with frame screw hole on the underside of the breech when you put the CF sleeve back on.
Oh, and just another note - when removing the CF sleeve, pull straight back on the sleeve. It also might help to give it a little twist as you go. If you tilt the sleeve at all while you're pulling back on it, there's a chance you might crack the sleeve.
So is this body still on the back burner?Originally Posted by zondo
Unfortunately, yes. Unless there's a fairly large interest, and I could get some pre-orders, I can't justify the time and expense to do a run of them.
How many pre-orders do you need? I'm interested in having this mod done.
WM still doing this mod???
wonder why your asking
