So, I'm walking through the local Army/Navy surplus store, ...

... looking for a 25mm composite ammo box, and found they didn't have any in stock. While looking around, my roommate stumbles (almost literally) across this box. He dug around in it for fun, and found a right feed Phantom that's seen plenty of use (and rust), and a Splatmaster (didn't examine it too closely). Out of curiosity, I asked how much they were. The clerk at the store quoted me a price of $5 each for them. After I recovered enough to ask him to repeat himself, my roommate ended up buying the Splatmaster, and I bought the Phantom.

What does this have to do with anything? I was just interested in hearing peoples stories of similar experiences.

Same idea, but somewhat higher in price was my deal: NIB Empire timmy when they first came out, for a grand total of 500 bucks.

My wife's parents gave me a hundred bucks to keep her...does that count?

Best deal I've seen was a friend (Hugh Franklyn) pull a handfull of old PMI parts out of a bin, for $10. That night he built a stock-gun out of them. It's not quite a PGP, and not quite a P68, but it still shoots darts even seven years later.

Next best: My pal Cliff bought an almost-new Tippmann Pro-Lite at a pawn shop for $75 that came with a $100 red-dot sight and an Armson Sniper barrel.

Mine is probably my Viking. $500 with eyes, Pandora noard, WAS board, and more upgrades. Oh, I also got a old Shocker that was missing a board for $10 too.
