i own one of the first 500 mags ever built and really hate to part with it and i was wondering if its possible to convert it to an e-mag and what the cost would be....if not then im looking to put it up for sale so i can buy something for my 10yr old to start playing with

You can but it'd cost upwards of 500 dollars since you'd have to search out parts and such.

it would cost much more than 500 dollars. I suggest you buy a used e-mag. It does not seem worth the time or money todo that. Give the old mag to your son and/or put a lvl 10 in it. It should be good to go from there. But the only part you could keep that I can think of is the barrel and the body if you mill the body to fit.

The board and gripframe would cost you $400 right there. That's not even counting the battery, battery housing, solenoid and other small fittings.
You're better off buying used.
built mine for under 300, and that includes the upgraded x-valve. but i have a feeling mine was a rare case indeed.
