AO,

After a long and embarassing wait we finally have Flatlines back in stock. We also have reg seats.

The new seats are much harder and require a special technique to remove. You must unscrew the reg nut out of the back of the regulator (with the reg dissasembled of course) then push the pin head of the reg piston THROUGH the reg seat. You must do this BEFORE removing reg seat from the regulator body. If you try and pull the reg seat around the piston pin you could bend it.

These seats seem to work very well. Sorry for the wait.

The online store is getting switched over to another software program this week so nothing is getting updated.

Look for better shipping options and more stuff for sale online!

How about 88/4500s? Are they being built or are there any tanks on order?

Yeah. I know Blazingace and I have had an order for 2 88/4500 flatlines in since February. Is there ANY chance of getting these before New Years?

Are these seats better than the orange/red ones. I have one of each, should I bother switching to the white(new) ones?

Also, they require a special technique to remove, but not to put them on correct?

Yes. Apparently the white ones are better.

That?s just not good enough for me; I want to know from someone who has done the testing...like I don't know maybe AGD.

Apparently is just to close to assume and you know what that means ;)

Also, Black was suggesting installing the V1 reg seat in backward, should I do the same with the new white ones?

Well, Ronin_23's flatline was having major shootdown issues with the old reg seat.

Kayle put a new white one in at Shatnerball. Ronin played with it a week later at a tournament without complaint.

Good enough for you? :p

As for flipping them upside down, the new seats aren't the same shape. They aren't beveled on the outside. There's more of a circular indentation on the INSIDE, near where the piston goes through.

Yeah. My old/new tank will be ready soon. God knows that I could use that tank.

Can anyone tell me the real operating range of the 4500 Flatlines? I just got mine, and the documentation says that it is only adjustable from 800 to 1200 psi. The online site says "Adjusts from 0 to 1,200psi (best between 700 to 1200)" but shows a picture of the "blue" flatline - which I believe was the 3000psi model.

Also, assuming the instructions are correct what happens when the tank pressure falls below 800? By this I mean, how well will the regulator function? Basically, I'm worried about "gas" mileage. and consistency. I bought a Viking because I wanted to have something more efficient then the Emag on occasions, and purchased the Flatline to go with the Viking to offset it's weight - since the Flatline is so light and the Viking chunky. Now I'm a little concerned since the Viking only needs an input of 400psi and would like to run the tank down to that point before filling.

Thanks for any info,

-Calvin

The blue one was the prototype 4500. I would listen to that later instructions. Its been my experience that is more correct. I have run them down. And I think your secondary reg should even any fluctuation out down when the tank is lower than 700. It's just a recharge rate. But its ability to get back to and feed the 400 you need is still there from what I have seen. That's realy all that matters. I suspect you will be fine until you approach that 400 range. I know I have run them down to 600 without anything noticable. If it was lagging it was almost undetectable with the naked eye. And I have regularly set them at 700 and 750 or so and run them that way all the time.

Well, I heard a rumor at lunch from an AGD tech (who's name is left unmentioned to protect the innocent...) That the springpack can be replaced with one from an AIR valve which will knock the operating range to down to between 400 and 800.

Seems to make sense...

The afore mentioned tech can weigh in if he likes.

Now that I think about it I kinda, sorta remember Jon saying something about springpacks at the tech class...

They been doing that for years. On the 3000's long before as well. Nothing new there. But I do not personaly know how well it works. I know it works to some extent but never done it myself. So I do not go out and recomend it since I have no first hand experience with it.

On the springs packs.

The ones that ship with the tanks are tuned for 600-800 psi out. If you need less than that and get a good fast recharge you need to lower the regs sweet spot.

The Automags Spring pack is tuned for 300-450 ish psi. I have a few timmys running around singled reged, not something I would suggest but they do it. I also have a few Excals and Viking running 400 psi out to their sidewinders.

Its just a matter of tweaking your pressure swet spot.
