I had heard that BE was changing their shells but I didn't expect to see any soon.

I got a red one today and the plastic for the shell as well as the lid is much softer thus less brittle.

Just when I was in the marker to get rid of my revie they improve the product.

Did they announce this? I would love to own a Revvie again, but I've seen too many shells just break with little use. Are they anything like the old Pre-BE revvies?

Where did you buy the new "improved" shells? My red revy is starting so show some cracks and I'm sure it'll let loose at the worst time. I haven't bothered because I knew the new ones weren't any better and possibly worse. If they have fixed them, I might reconsider.

I hope they have indeed solved the problems. I love my Revvy and would like to put them on all our other markers (more cost effective for our needs than Halos). And then maybe move up my RTP to a Halo at some point.

a revvie shell out of BE's plant today (or within the last 6 months) is stronger and more durable than the 'pre-be' revvies. (in addition to faster and in cooler colors).

however, there were ~10,000 bad shelled revvies made (too much O2 in the shell) that are still out there. If you buy from a large retailer that goes through stuff quickly, you should be fine . If its a small business that rarely rolls over stuff...you may be SOL

The color is not as translucent and the plastic is more plyable and soft. I have a pre-BE shell and they feel the same.

I get the shell for Country CLub Paintball in Glenwood, Illinois. It came from a new revie off the shelf that they just got in.

Well, I had 3 of the 10,000 bad Revvy Shells made. Yep, I went through 3 in the past 3 months.

You can tell if you got a bad one by the smell too :(

I broke 3 of those bad shelled Revs too. All black ones. Now I have a clear one and it's only a bit cracked :(

Yeah, I love my 3 year old revie shells. Not even a crack, and with an x-board and vortex paddles it feeds fast enough with the i-fed retro. Looks like it'll be kept in the gear box now that I just picked up an eggy.
