excellent job on the rail. especially seeing as you only used a dremel and sandpaper. true craftsman!

yea it was just a junkie stock rail. All of my friend were like " dude you are going to mess your gun up so bad" but i just figured a new rail cost 30$ so why not do it.

The milling took me real long (like a week, i milled like 2 hours a day) when i did one side. I used a grinder and the dremel tool, with some cylindrical tip. Then i broke my dremel because i turned it on full power and stabbed it into a wooden bench because it was cool when the wood smoked. I borrowed my friends dremel, and he had a ton more tips than i had. So i found one tip, and it was very efficient and i got done in 2 hours what took me a whole week. The polishing took forever, though. I just took some sandpaper and such to work and polished it the whole time when i wasnt doing anything.

I had to wear heat gloves if i did it for extended amounts of time, because the body rail got really hot. Another huge problem was the metal shavings everywhere. I wore saftey glasses ( A MUST) and somehow i still got a peice in my eye. I also had a ton of little metal splinter everywhere, and my skin got all irritated, but a shower cured that.

My next job is a sluggo body, but not for a long, time because i just bought a ULE. If anyone wants a pic of the dremel tip i used, i'll take one, so you know what to use.

what are you gonna do when the back of your reg unscrews by itself because you wiped out the z-lock pin cavity? For safety's sake, make sure you drill a set screw in there or something...;) A+ on the effort though...real nice job!:D

the z lock is still in there. I made it so i still had it in the left tail prong thing. The field strip screw hold stuff tight anyway.
