just wondering if anyone on here is a member of the National Rifle Association. I just recently joined at one of the sport shows (the great outdoors) that is held in Oshgosh, Wisconsin and signed up there. It's actually kinda sad that i just recently joined considering the fact that im pretty closely related to Kayne Robinson who is the President of the NRA. Yes well enough of my blabering who else is a member?

I used to be a member up until a few years ago when I kinda got out of hunting for a bit. Probably join back up once I get more heavily into it. Mainly just deer hunting.

Last year the NRA sent me a trial membership and an NRA card. Note that I was thirteen at the time and I've never shot a real gun. Doesn't bother me though, because now I can carry an NRA card in my wallet. It's pretty nice. :D

You don't have to hunt, and you don't have to own a firearm to be a member of the NRA.

Life Member (since 1968)

IPSC, long range varmint hunting, high power rifle, combat rifle, and I used to be extremely heavy into Mountain Man.

True story:

My wife's family is always annoying me about how barbaric i am for having guns and so on. Then one day we were all in Newark at the performing arts center, which is not in a nice area of town. I was packing a paird of Glock 18's just in case. They kept riding me about it and how embarrassed they were. Then, when we were walking to our cars there was a woman screaming and running making a ton of noise not far from us.

They all pealed and got behind me, scared to death.

Turns out it was just a woman throwing her boyfriend out of their apartment.

LOL....I get hounded also by some friends and family. I have a carry in NY. Depending on where and what is going on, I will carry a S&W 9mm.

You never know what could happen at anytime. Be prepared.
We have already gone through this on another thread so I will stop now.:)

Don't let the fact that the Carpetbaggin Ma Clinton, and her dirtbag of a husband, somehow managed to slither her way into this state, fool you into thinking that there aren't any correct thinking citizens living here.

My back holster carries two, and wearing only one makes it feel funny and is pretty uncomfortable.

Wayne LaPierre was never president of the NRA. He is the Executive Vice President. He is the defacto leader of the NRA, but Volunteers are always the president/board members. The owner of Bob's Little Gunshop in Glassboro is on the Executive Board of the NRA.

Member here as well.

Newt,
How the hell did you get a carry permit in Jersey? I would love to carry my Glock 17!

Back in the day I used to run a Blockbuster in East Orange, and I requested a permit, which several letters of reccomendation from Police and FBI friends and a gentle nudging froma state attorney and my 1 star general father, to get me a permit so I could defend the $5,000 I carried to the bank every morning (and my life obviously).

That was some time ago, but i kept the permit.

Carry permits do expire, but as long as there is not a reason to renew it then it's a lot easier to keep it than it is to get it.

Which I did find out, in PA it is legal to carry non-concealed. I thought this was pretty wild and in my mind a smart move. Though I have not seen anyone carrying.

Yeah, i have to renew it on occasion, but mostly that just consists of sending them a check and telling them you havne't committed any felonies.

I own a shotgun, gone hunting. But I've never become a member. But I do stand up for my 2nd amendment rights. I've even gotten into verbal fisticuffs over the issue at work...
